2028 Rankings Update First Five

NorCal 2028 Rankings have been released. It's not easy gathering information on incoming Freshman. Most of them play on the Varsity, starting, or contributing in some way, others don't get a lot of playing time, but have earned a spot on the Varsity. We look back into the Summer of AAU at the 15U level for some. Going forward there's sure to be movement up, and down as increased playing time, exposure, and overall development kicks in.    It's no secret that Dorrough has been slotted as the top ranked Freshman in NorCal. The long wing prospect with an expanding skill set has been a productive Varsity player. Starting and leading the team in scoring and rebounding according to stat, averaging close to a double double his first season of high school basketball through 19 games. 18.2ppg, 9.7rebs. He has multiple DI offers. He'll get stronger.     Standing 6'4 growing, and a frame to fill. He's shown a good overall set of skills on both sides of the ball. He was the only participant from Northern California invited to the USA JNT Camp in Colorado Springs, CO. Amongst many talented prospects, his ability to defend, and move the ball stood out. A long arm defender, alert, with good effort defending away from the basket. He can handle to generate buckets, use his size in the paint for points, and rebounds. He's averaging 15.3pts, 6rebs, 2.5asts. He's a good passer. Recently picked up a DI offer.     For a Freshman he has the skill set of an older prospect. Standing 6'8 with a frame to fill. He seems rather confident handling, passing, and moving around the perimeter. He's going to rebound and provide paint presence, he goes straight up with both hands to bother shooters inside. He makes good use of his body, and dribble while trying to get a bucket inside. He works from mid to high post, keeps it high around the basket. He runs the court, he'll shoot 3's.     We've seen enough of Weaver to know he's going to be a productive prospect at some point. He's coming off the bench right now locked in on being a good defender. He moves his feet, plays with tenacity defending out on the perimeter. He's a shooting guard that can knock down open 3's. He sets his feet quickly, has a good release with no hesitation. He moves, runs the court, makes cuts without the ball.     A solid body prospect, already having impact, starting or coming off the bench. He's showing a versatile style of play that allows him to contribute on both ends of the court. He defends multiple positions, helps rebound, and defend inside. Standing 6'4 he can handle the ball up top and on the sides using his dribble to get closer to finish around the basket. He's a willing passer with the vision to find open mates.
