With the end of the season coming up soon and teams getting ready to make a run at the state championship, here are some 1A teams to keep an eye on.

Annie Wright HS: Record: 13-1 - Key wins: Rainier Beach, Bellarmine, Central Catholic (OR)

This team is a top team in the entire state and proved it early with a big win over Rainier Beach, arguably the top team in the entire state. They have Indiana State University commit, [player_tooltip player_id='1450980' first='Martin' last='Kaupanger'], who has stepping up huge for this team and has really grown into a top player in the state. [player_tooltip player_id='1450983' first='Jeremiah' last='Harshman'] is an underrated senior who is a top 15 player in the class and should be getting Division 1 looks. [player_tooltip player_id='1587998' first='Noah' last='Schow'] has made his way over from Tenino and has been finding his role perfectly for this squad, making big plays on both ends.

Lynden Christian HS: 14-1 - Key wins: Lake Stevens, Woodinville, Archbishop-Murphy

The Lyncs have always been a top 1A team for many years, always having talent on their team and great coaching along the way too. [player_tooltip player_id='1587970' first='Gannon' last='Dykstra'] has really come into his own, being a top player in the entire NWC and is headed to D2 Biola University next year. Younger brother, Gunnar, has really stepped up for the Lyncs with [player_tooltip player_id='2392727' first='Dawson' last='Hintz'] missing most of the beginning of the season. Gunnar Dykstra recently tied the school record with 9 three's made in one game. [player_tooltip player_id='2457277' first='Kaden' last='Veldman'] has emerged as the top big man for the team and all the sudden is a premier post defender in the paint for the Lyncs.

Royal HS: 13-1 - Key wins: Wapato, Zillah, Chelan

Royal is coming off a great football season in the fall, which wasn't any surprise. Lance Allred is a dynmaic athlete who adjusts perfectly to whatever role/sport he is playing in. He is an incredible athlete who can defend well and finish in transition nicely. Trent Jensen is a monster down low, dominating the paint and being able to hold his own against top players they matchup against.

Kings HS: 10-3 - Key wins: Tenino, Bear Creek, Overlake

Kings has a tough roster with no current seniors, which could be big for them next season. Cole Adams is a super athlete as his games translates smoothly to the basketball court from the football field. Adams runs the court well and can play multiple positions on the court. Andrew Gerbig is a big down low who has been impressive by dominating the paint on both ends of the court.

Chelan HS: 13-2 - Key wins: Omak, Cashmere, Colville

[player_tooltip player_id='2140862' first='Tev' last='Uttech'] is a dominate force down low, standing at 6'6" and being a matchup nightmare so far with opposing teams. The Faletto brothers, Luca and Trevor, are a big part of the team too despite Trevor being just a freshman. [player_tooltip player_id='2717079' first='Jacob' last='Allen'] and Zachary Noyd are seniors who have big roles on this squad too and will be relied on late in the season.

Meridian HS: 10-4 - Key wins: Bear Creek, Burlington-Edison, Anacortes

Meridian potentially has one of the top 1-2 duos in the class with [player_tooltip player_id='1485653' first='Jaeger' last='Fyfe'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1984464' first='Talon' last='Jenkins']. Fyfe has been improving a tremendous amount, having a better shot selection this season and knowing his strengths on the court. Jenkins stands around 6'7" which will make him a hard matchup to anyone in the class. He can score from all 3 levels and defends the paint in the Trojans' 2-3 zone defense. The key for them? Will others be able to step up in key spots.

Zillah HS: 11-3 - Key wins: Cashmere, Kings, Royal

Zillah were the champs last season and despite an 0-2 start to the season, they are looking ready to make a run at another state championship. Dekker Van de Graaf has been killing it all season, not missing a step from the 1A tournament last year. He is a 3 level scorer who knows how to step up late in the game and in key situations. They key for them will be to see who is going to come up big alongside Van de Graaf.
