The future UCO Broncho finally got it going from distance in Dale's Friday win over Wilson. Went 4-7 in that win for the Pirates. He's been a key part of this historic Dale run over the last four years, as a timely sharpshooter. But injuries hampered the end of his junior campaign and the start of his senior. Finding that rhythm from three will be crucial for Dale to hold off a hungry Class 2A. Along with shooting, he's unafraid to take charges and make other disruptive plays on defense. Also had a great baseline drive and assist in the Pirate's match up with Crossings.

It speaks to the confidence the Millwood staff has in Goins that even with other top defenders on the team, Goins keeps drawing some of the tougher defensive assignments. He's a determined defender, with quickness and knows how to use angles and leverage to harass taller opponents. Shines when he's on the ball and brings pressure. Fun prospect, who's role is clearly vital to the success of one of the best teams in Oklahoma.

After checking in against Jenks, the youngster brought some much needed energy and toughness to spark the Titans. The football background is evident with the strength and tenacity he plays with. Especially on the defensive end, as he seemed to live in passing lanes and picking off lazy passes to race to the other end for scores. Already strong for his age, and quick for his frame, Matthews is a handful to keep out of the lane. And a good finisher when he does get to the rim. Football very well could be his future sport over basketball. But the best Carl Albert teams over the last decade have other featured dual sport stars like Matthews.

Smith continues to prove there's no dropoff in the Eagles' starting five. He brought critical perimeter shooting, scrappy defense and a battler's mentality all weekend as Weatherford had two statement wins and pushed Owasso. Has matured into a stronger guard by Oklahoma standards, who is fearless around the rim. Good example of a Swiss Army Knife style player, who compliments his senior teammates perfectly.

Quick and twitchy with the ball in his hands, Johnson has a good first step and good hang time elevation when at the rim. Brings even more energy and disruption off the bench for one of Class 6A's top teams. Can crash the offensive glass for putbacks. Or create transition points with havoc causing plays on defense. Promising long term prospect, who now is in year two of playing with two great examples (Brown and Leonard) of how his game can grow.

Intriguing freshman prospect, who did a little bit of everything for Mustang this past Thursday. Good looking shot from deep. Helpful as a rebounder. Even making some good passes with quick thinking after grabbing rebounds. Really covers a lot of ground on defense for his age and height. Had a possession where he was helping to trap at the perimeter, then was the player who hustled down to block a shot at the rim. Great early combination of athletic profile and skill. Named to monitor going forward.
