Top Underclassmen from Shane's Week in NWO

This past week I went to two big-time conference games. On Tuesday I went to Central Catholic vs St. John's Jesuit, 65-57 was the final score as CCHS got the win. On Friday night I went to a Northwest Conference game as Spencerville went on the road and beat Lima Central Catholic 62-54. This article will recap the Top Underclassmen from the week!    James was making plays that had me and others in the gym in disbelief. He is a point guard but does a great job of absorbing and dictating contact against defenders. He had multiple tough acrobatic finishes that showed off his great touch around the rim. He is a really good two-foot finisher. He was one of the only bright spots for this Titans squad on Tuesday night. He is just a nice physical hooper for a point guard. Highly skilled.     Kynard was a solid player all night for the Irish and someone that they could rely on to make plays for them. His jumper was falling and did a great job of hitting midrange shots. He never forced anything all night and always knocked down the shots he took. He has a nice handle on the ball and does exactly what you want from a point guard. He played with great competitive energy.     Mack-Russell is a player who will always get the best defensive assignment from the other team and will carry gravity on the court. When you play Central you want to stop him but you can't do that. He just wore the defense down all night by attacking the rim and as the game went on lanes started to open up for him to score. He is a player that can get anywhere on the court he wants due to his size and athleticism. He was very aggressive in the second half of the game and it paid off as he had a huge second half that made the difference in the game.     Burton is another freshman for this Lima Central Catholic squad who played his tail off. He has great size for an underclassmen guard and is more physical than a lot of varsity players on the court. He is an outstanding defender. He is a good athlete and was a major factor in the full-court press that got them back into the game late. He is a good slasher who puts his head down and lets nothing stop him from getting to the rim. I love the edge and energy he played with as well.     Williams, a freshman who came off the bench for Lima Central Catholic, is an instant bolt of energy. The way he plays the game gets everyone in the crowd into it. He has a great handle on the ball that gets him by defenders easily. He is such a quick player as well. His great defensive hands cause turnovers and slow down the offense. He is always a great passer.
