Cottingham played incredibly well in Basic's matchup with St. Paul. On offense, he was hitting mid-range shots and 3's. On defense, he was deflecting passes, coming up with steals, and battling against the St. Paul bigs for rebounds. I was also a big fan of his effort, the senior really left it all out there.

[player_tooltip player_id='1243525' first='Miles' last='Williams'] and Mater East Academy had Cohea on the ropes, but Cohea just barely pulled out the win. Despite the loss, Williams had a pretty good game and made some nice plays for the Knights. He used his speed on multiple occasions to get to the rack, and also knocked down a couple of 3's. On defense, he was constantly pestering the Cohea PG and forced a few turnovers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1243526' first='Lonnie' last='Bass Jr'].'s consistent offensive production helped keep the Knights close with Cohea. He leveraged his size and frame to back his guy down in the paint throughout the game, and also threw down a dunk in the second half. Bass Jr. finished the game with 16 points and made one 3.

Tong Mawein is a force to be reckoned with on the basketball court. The 6'8 PF has some athleticism and size that are tough to slow down. When you attempt to stop him from getting downhill, he can switch gears and look for mid-range shots.

Although St. Paul built a decent lead, [player_tooltip player_id='2240785' first='Kenny' last='Williams'] never stopped competing. He caught fire from 3 in the second half and helped Basic make a near comeback.
