made an impact for Basic Academy in their game with St. Paul by connecting a couple of 3’s and by being a playmaker thanks to his speed. Although he didn’t have his best shooting performance, he still found ways to contribute and his effort was evident on defense. Williams finished the game with 13 points, in their narrow loss.

moves up a couple of spots and is now #16 in the rankings. He is one of the more athletic guards in Las Vegas and consistently utilizes his acceleration skills to create the separation he needs to get his shot off. He also makes his presence felt on defense, and can pick off passes or pick his opponent’s pocket. Expect him to be a playmaker for the Wolves game in and game out this year.

carved up the defense thanks to his acceleration skills on Sunday. He has a good feel for when to punch the gas and defenders got left in the dust throughout the game. He also utilized his handles to protect the rock and his vision to find his teammates for open looks.

doesn’t lack confidence and is often hunting buckets on offense. He has the burst to get downhill quickly and he makes tough finishes. I also noticed him making well timed passes when defenders closed in on him. If he keeps playing well, he might be able to raise his stock this summer.

was the point guard for the Basic Wolves this season. He was a standout performer multiple times and I noticed that he was usually one of the quicker players on the court. Williams used said quickness to get to the rim, and set up jump shots. On the defensive end, he had a ton of deflections and averaged just under 2 steals per game.

did his best at the beginning of the game to keep it close with Sierra Vista. He was using his speed to get by his defender and had a few quality finishes. Once Sierra Vista caught on to Basic’s game plan, they started to clog up the once open lanes with another defender. With less room to operate, Williams was forced to attempt to draw fouls and put up long range shots. Unfortunately for Basic he wasn’t able to continue his hot start, but it was still a decent game from the sophomore.

was flying all over the court on Saturday making plays. On offense, he was driving to the basket and he also splashed some 3’s. On defense, he was hunting steals and came up with 7! It was likely one of his best games of the season and his efforts also helped Basic get the win over Washington Prep (59-44).

never stopped competing. He caught fire from 3 in the second half and helped Basic make a near comeback. Williams finished the game with five 3-Pointers made and St. Paul only ended up winning by 5 after being up by more than 10 most of the game.

Williams plays with a lot of confidence and I like he way he competed in the Varsity Fall League. His top skills on offense are his driving ability and ball-handling. For him to become even more lethal on offense, he will need to become a bit more consistent with creating shots for others. On defense, he utilizes his athleticism to his advantage and can come up with steals.

Williams also started for Basic Academy last season. He will be their starting point guard and is sure to rack up a few assists every game. I also think that it will be easier for him to get downhill with the ball this year since defenders will have to be more cautious about leaving inside guys like Oba or Edmonds open.
