Batavia Sharp Shooting Too Much for Glenbard North

The first game we saw was a consolation game between Batavia and Glenbard North. Pretty evenly matched contest, but the shot making of Batavia was hard to overcome as they won 50-37. Their star is Cornell commit [player_tooltip player_id='1295579' first='Jax' last='Abalos']. Plus shooter from distance who hit a corner three along with a pull up. The small forward has great positional size and a quick release. Also showed he could deck it getting fouled on multiple drives and scoring on spinning layups. His passing was on point as well finding our next standout on numerous occasions going for 14 points and 16 rebounds. Joe Reid had a breakout performance as the 2026 6'0” guard bombed in triples all game long going 5-10 from distance along with mixing in some floaters for 21 points. New name to put on radar!

The most intriguing prospect for Glenbard North is [player_tooltip player_id='2455373' first='Oturo' last='Redento']. Strong bodied 6'5” combo forward that runs the floor, handles the ball with strength, can go coast to coast, and shows potential as a shot maker from three. Went for 9 points and 6 rebounds. Inside [player_tooltip player_id='2404186' first='Matt' last='Welch'] brought size on the glass along with efficient scoring in the paint and shooting from three as he had 11 points. [player_tooltip player_id='1459000' first='Jack' last='Schager'] is a versatile glue guy that does a little bit of everything stuffing the stat sheet while doing his damage scoring on crafty finishes as he had 9 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Zobrist and Funk Look Dominant in Win over Rolling Meadows

In the first quarterfinal of the day between Rolling Meadows and Metamora it featured the #1 ranked prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1385299' first='Ian' last='Miletic'] who is headed to Marquette against a pair of highly ranked D1 commits in Bradley commit [player_tooltip player_id='1545146' first='Matthew' last='Zobrist'] and South Dakota commit [player_tooltip player_id='1576619' first='Jonah' last='Funk']. In the first half Rolling Meadows controlled the game despite Miletic not getting much going. It was tied going into the half and close heading into the fourth. The last quarter was owned by Zobrist and Funk as they looked like the best 1-2 combination in the state in that 8 minutes taking home the win 71-61.

Bradley commit Zobrist is a small forward who was as good as I have ever seen him in this game. Seen him play a lot of high school games in 2 ½ years, but he looked like a sure fire Player of the Year candidate and top 5 senior in that game. He picked apart the defense getting absolutely whatever he wanted in ball screen actions on drives, jumpers from two and three, along with pin point passing that was just absurd at times. He found Funk over and over again. Also shut down Miletic in the first half on the defensive end and overall still held him in check. He had 29 points (12-16 FG) and 7 assists in the win. Inside Funk finished out of the dunker spot with and-1s one after another. He has a quick right handed hook shot he likes to go along with a feathery mid-range jumper. Protected the rim on the defensive end and rebounded at a high rate going for 25 points (10-16 FG) and 9 rebounds.

Miletic had his moments with a showing some passing feel and creating but he was definitely taken out of his normal game. He actually went 3-5 from deep which is about normal for him as the lefty is one of the better pure shooters in the class. Struggled scoring inside the arc however finishing 4-12 overall from the field for 13 points. Senior power forward [player_tooltip player_id='2321417' first='Lazar' last='Lazarevic'] was the player that really stepped up. Tough hard-nosed face up four who can stretch the floor with his shooting hitting 3-6 from deep along with using touch in the paint. He had 17 points in the loss. Small college sleeper!

Pettigrew and Thompson Flex Muscle in Win over Lake Forest to Advance to Semis

Bolingbrook and Lake Forest matched up in the second quarterfinal at Jack Tosh. Lake Forest kept within striking distance for most of the game, but couldn't ever get over the hump as Bolingbrook won 59-49. Class of 2027 sensational guard [player_tooltip player_id='2323624' first='Davion' last='Thompson'] is a complete show! He was great playing with the rock in his hands getting euro steps, spinning layups, and changing gears with ease. Banged in multiple deep threes and his passing was on point as well setting up his teammates inside and out. He had 22 points (7-17 FG), 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Valpo commit senior post [player_tooltip player_id='1385301' first='JT' last='Pettigrew'] was a force down low. The highly ranked five man was physical scoring in the paint throwing down massive slams including several alley-oops. He dominated the glass and made Scroggins work for everything he got in a 14 point and 9 rebound effort.

Lake Forest big man [player_tooltip player_id='2538856' first='Hudson' last='Scroggins'] is among the best uncommitted senior posts in the state. The face up four is a lefty that can usually shoot it well, but went 0-4 from deep. Didn't let that stop him though as he was good around the hoop with his footwork being light on his feet and scoring with agility in the lane. Sweeping layups, put backs, along with up and unders. Maneuvers well in tight spaces. He had 20 points (6-18 FG) (8-10 FG), 9 rebounds, and 3 dimes. Should for sure be a low-major/D2 guy. Next to him is 6'10” five man [player_tooltip player_id='2538995' first='Grant' last='Mordini']. Was looked at as a bit of a project post over the summer, but the 2025 big man is coming along nicely as he high pointed rebounds, blocked shots, and hit a long ball netting 7 points and 11 rebounds.
