There were a number of remarkable individual performances around the state last week as we head into the holiday break. Below we take a look at eight of the top Class 2A showings from the third week of action in a series that we plan to continue throughout the year, hopefully without too many repeats!

2025 PF [player_tooltip player_id='1951832' first='Cael' last='Reichter'] (North Fayette Valley) -- 39 points (17-24 FG, 0-2 3P, 5-8 FT), 22 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 blocks [vs. South Winneshiek]

Reichter is going to put up a lot of huge stat lines this season, but this one was particularly impressive given it gave against a South Winn team that will be one of the top challengers to NFV in the conference. A versatile 6-6 forward with the size, athleticism, and talent to control the game on both ends of the floor, he was dominant on both ends of the floor against the Warriors.

2025 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2721736' first='Nash' last='Dykes'] (Central Decatur) -- 34 points (13-20 FG, 8-11 3P), 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals [vs. East Union]

A shifty 5-8 guard who uses his speed to his advantage on both ends of the floor, Dykes stuffed the stat sheet against East Union last week. The 34 points and 8-11 from the 3-point line were extremely impressive, but it may have been the playmaking and ball security that stood out the most in the blowout win, dishing out 7 helpers against just 1 turnover.

2026 PG [player_tooltip player_id='1978103' first='Alec' last='Lovely'] (Treynor) -- 32 points (10-23 FG, 4-11 3P, 8-9 FT), 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block [vs. Lincoln Pius X, NE]

One of the top guards in the 2026 class, Lovely was huge in the Cardinals' narrow loss to Lincoln Pius X, a team out of Nebraska. His ability to create quality looks off the dribble for himself and his teammates is rivaled by few in the class.

2026 PF [player_tooltip player_id='2731691' first='Garrett' last='Luett'] (Underwood) -- 25 points (11-15 FG, 0-1 3P, 3-7 FT), 13 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal [vs. St. Albert]

One of the few holdovers from Underwood's state tournament team last season, Luett has gotten off to a really good start for the Eagles but saved his best for this matchup against St. Albert, delivering a huge double-double on highly efficient shooting.

2025 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2721751' first='Abraham' last='Lin'] (Eagle Grove) -- 31 points (15-23 FG, 1-6 3P), 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals [vs. Lake Mills]

The 6-1 guard was impressive against perennial Top of Iowa power Lake Mills, nearly delivering an upset win over the Bulldogs with his 31-point outburst. Nearly all of his damage came inside the arc, as he was in constant attack mode, getting to the rim or knocking down shots off the dribble in the mid-range.

2025 SF Talan Lafrentz (Denver) -- 27 points (10-15 FG, 3-3 3P, 4-6 FT), 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals [vs. Hudson]

Lafrentz has established himself as a big-time scorer over the last few years, and his efficiency just keeps improving. He's a high-level shooting threat from the 3-point line off both the dribble and the catch, and he does a nice job allowing the threat of his jumper to open up the rest of his arsenal. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this outing, however, was his playmaking, showing that he sees the floor well and can be relied upon as a ball-handler and decision-maker.

2025 PF [player_tooltip player_id='2820139' first='Eric' last='Neipert'] (Union) -- 16 points (8-15 FG, 0-4 FT), 21 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 3 blocks [vs. Jesup]

The 6-4 big man took full advantage of his matchup against an undersized Jesup team, controlling the glass on both ends of the floor as well as protecting the paint defensively. When a big man has a size advantage against his opponent, it's refreshing to see them take advantage of it by controlling the paint on both sides.

2026 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2629262' first='Amani' last='Robinson'] (Columbus Cathoic) -- 23 points (10-19 FG, 0-2 3P, 3-3 FT), 19 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks [vs. Oelwein]

Robinson has continually improved over the last few years and is really rounding into a nice all-around guard with the size and athleticism at 6-3 to be a matchup problem. He stuffed the stat sheet against the Huskies, impacting the game in a major way on both ends of the floor.
