Day One at the Edmond Open was filled with highlights and standout performances. Interestingly enough, many of the top performances came from members of Oklahoma's junior and sophomore classes. In the case of Southmoore in particular, the future is now. And here's the 2026s and 2027s who elevated their game on Thursday.

In some ways the breakout for Pogi already happened earlier this week when he poured in 41 on Tuesday. Which included an exceptional shooting performance late and efficient scoring throughout. Watching that game back was impressive but watching a stream vs in person leaves some details lost. Even though he only had 21 in the win on Thursday, seeing changes in Pogi's game in person was possibly more impressive. He's moving different, as in quicker and stronger. It's turned him into even more of a dangerous driver and starting to have some burst when finishing. A reverse layup that helped the iced game in the fourth was a strong example of that. The change in his physical game is also allowing him to get off the ball more and have more efficient scoring opportunities.

It's not just his scoring that is turning Pogi into one of Oklahoma's elite players. The vision and accuracy on passing is outstanding. Had some tight window fits while driving, and great crosscourt passes with zip and accuracy. Which included a great crosscourt, no look that ended up as a hockey assist three pointer. Plays like that show how Pogi's impact goes beyond the box score. Also reads the game well on defense when it comes to playing the passing lanes, with some great steals. Stellar all around performance in Southmoore's first win of the year.

Only a sophomore, Cravens is spearheading the next stage of Edmond North's run as one of the elite programs in Oklahoma. He's havoc causing on defense and a traditional point guard who makes sure everyone eats on offense. Great vision and a variety of passes. Can play with some flair in transition with fancy passes, while also making the right reads in the halfcourt. The QB background he has from football clearly carries over onto the court. Had a good scoring run in the fourth as they closed the game out. Couple threes and a nice take.

An early stepback three pointer from the rising junior signaled that Crossings Christian is more than just their star senior duo of Furnish and Parker. It was the start of a 21 point day for Buckingham, who connected on spot up threes and even got busy off the dribble. Including a nice one legged stepback in the mid-range. Time around Furnish has also rubbed off in some of Buckingham's transition passing and overall decision making. He looks ready for a breakout junior campaign as he steps into a much needed role to add depth for the Knights.

The defensive specialist continues his heater of a start from long range. If the first two games of the year are any indication, Folsom is one of the top shooters in 2027. He hit threes in spots as a freshman, but through two games has seemed automatic when open. Along with the big threes, Folsom continues to have one of the finest motors on defense in the state, with the feel and instincts to match. One compliment that could be paid to his mentality on defense is that he looks like he could fit into some of the ballhawking, pressuring defenses of years past at Putnam City West and Midwest City.

The talented guards of Southmoore are rightfully going to receive acclaim this year but for the Sabercats to reach their true potential Williams will be crucial. Which he was on Thursday. While there's perimeter aspects to his profile, he's now a long armed 6'7 and more than capable of being an utility guy in the post. Rebounded on both ends, ran the floor hard and was an important hub on offense. Not only when finishing when called upon, he's turning into a good passing big. Passing out of post ups when a crowd draws near him, or taking a couple dribbles from the top of the key and hitting an open teammate in the corner. Very important glue guy with a vital role in keeping the Sabercuts humming on both ends of the court.

After Edmond Santa Fe's slow start, it was Robinson's aggressive play on both ends that tried to carry them back into it. He's quick and attacks with a purposes on drives. Has the ability to switch hands while mid-air and can finish with either hand. Also starting to add more counters into his game with mid-range pull ups and stepbacks. Turning into a good on the court leader for a younger but talented Wolves team.
