Tyler made the move from Totino-Grace to Champlin Park for his senior season and he has had quite a start. He has scored over 30 points in three of the first four games of the year. I was in the building for two of those and his confidence from the outside is really impressive. In both games, he's knocked down tough contested looks and has gotten inside to make plays above the rim. The Rebels are ranked 4th in Class AAAA and Wagner will likely continue to put up big numbers.

Chace and Totino-Grace have had a tough stretch of matchups early in the season, but Chace has shined in each one. He's averaging 25.6 PPG thus far and I was in the gym for three of his strong performances. His shooting from the outside is what has impressed me the most, being able to create separation from defenders using the dribble to hit tough looks following step backs or side steps. Watley has scored 30 or more in three games already and has made his case for Mr. Basketball.

Tommy has been dominant so far this season for the top ranked Raiders, showing off his full skillset in the two games I have seen. He possesses a good mix of power and finesse at times, as he is the strongest player on the floor, backing down defenders for easy finishes, as well as using his elite footwork and touch to score in the post. Ahneman is also a beast in the paint on the defensive end and is a double-double machine, averaging nearly 20 points and double-digit rebounds.

I've always liked Jaleel as a player, but he has made some big time improvements to his game. These improvements have been very evident five games into his senior year, helping BSM to a 5-0 start. I have been very impressed with his perimeter shooting in both of the games I have watched, working off the catch and off the dribble. He gets so much elevation on his mid-range pull-up and has been automatic when left open from three off the catch. Donley is averaging over 15 points per game thus far.

This Hopkins squad is rolling through everyone right now and are easily a top-2 team in the state. I have seen four games so far this season and Anthony has been flying around, making plays in all of them. I already knew that he was a great scorer and ball handling option, but he has been fantastic in the Royal press and traps, coming away with 8 steals in their most recent win over Park Center. Smith has the quickest first step in the state in my opinion and has been a problem for opponents, impacting the game in many ways.

Nolan has made his case for Mr. Basketball this season, starting the season off with a 46 point performance in a win over top ranked Wayzata at the time. Since then, Orono is off to a 3-1 start (only loss to top ranked CDH), behind 32.8 PPG from Groves. He is such a smart player and makes scoring the ball look so easy. He uses his strength to work inside and in the mid-range, possessing great touch from inside the three-point line. [player_tooltip player_id='1579885' first='Nolan' last='Groves'] and Orono look like one of the toughest teams in Minnesota.

Another Champlin Park Rebel on this list, Preston has been great on both ends of the floor early in the season. He is a really skilled finisher around the basket, being able to play above the rim with dunks or hang in the air for acrobatic layups. He is also a threat from beyond the arc and can put the ball on the floor to create. He can also defend a variety of different players, being a swiss army knife kind of player that is valuable on any team.

Keegan was a player I really liked over the spring and summer and he has had a nice start to his senior season. He's averaging 18.8 PPG on the year and is such a smooth player to watch go to work. He cannot be left open from beyond the arc and can attack the rim for strong finishes at 6'3”. Maple Grove will likely be a top-15 team in class AAAA this season, with the backcourt/wing duo of Babou Ann and Harney leading the way.

Jacob had one of the best individual performances I have seen this season in a win over Waconia at the Breakdown Big Stage. The 6-foot guard scored 32 points and took the game over at times. He was knocking down tough looks off the dribble and was attacking the basket with aggression. He is also a pest on the defensive end, coming away with steals and loose balls. Hudson is an effective finisher in transition as well, capping off finishes at full speed.

Manny has been a pleasant surprise on a Park Center team that has fallen short of expectations so far. He stands at 6'6” and has a very versatile skillset. He can match up with a variety of different players on defense, being able to move with guards and has the size to match up with wings and forwards. Jentzen has been a great option from beyond the arc in both of the games I have seen, especially off the catch.
