With the 2024 City of Palms Classic now completed, here are some of the talented high school players that participated and impressed during the event. In no particular order, we'll be counting down 25 players from the classes of 2025, 2026. and 2027 that dominated their opponents or showed developing skills that can make them a number one option in their junior or senior years of high school. With that, let's get started

We begin with class of 2027 Long Island Lutheran standout Moussa Kamissoko. Kamissoko is an interesting prospect as a sophomore. He already has the height and length to be a very successful wing and displayed impressive 3-and-D skills throughout the event. As a slasher, he was on the receiving end of a few great passes that he finished strong on. Kamissoko also does have the ability to stretch the floor though needs to be more consistent with the long-range shot. His form is very fluid, and he does have a high release point on his jumper, so repetition will build that confidence and range. Kamissoko also realizes in his current role, he is not the go to player as a sophomore, so he does all the little things to impact winning. He crashed the glass strong and averaged almost 5 rebounds per game over four contests LuHi played.

Constanza is a versatile wing scorer who has a sprinkle of point-forward in his game. He's a capable ball-handler and showcased his ability to drive into hard to navigate spaces, maintain composure, and find his way to the rim. Constanza's game really blossomed this past grassroots circuit and he became much more comfortable shooting the rock and driving the lane to draw contact. He is also a strong free-throw shooter. He's really coming into his own comfort wise on the court and averaged 23.3 points per game at City of Palms, showing he can do a little bit of everything on the offensive side of the ball. Defensively, Constanza rebounds well utilizing his length and athleticism to out jump opponents on occasion. His 7-foot wingspan allows him to be a disruptive force on defense as well, flashing into passing lanes and causing deflections that have led to fast break highlight reels. He's almost like a slightly shorter Brandon Ingram with his bucket getting ability and rangy defensive play.

Holt is a flat-out scorer. He can drive to his spot anywhere on the court and rise up or get to the rim and draw contact. He's a high percentage free throw shooter, so putting him on the line is not the answer either for opposing teams. Holt has all of the tools one would want in that scoring combo guard. He has impressive body control on his drives, is acrobatic enough to avoid contact when needed so he can finish the shot attempt, and he seeks out contact to get to the line and convert. Holt also that “second bounce” part of his game where he can spring right back up extremely quickly to grab a board or tip in an attempt that may be rolling off the rim. The back half of Grayson's four games saw Holt utilize that spring and grab more rebounds than the first two games, both victories for Grayson. Holt is another junior with many traditional powerhouse programs after him but, currently he has not made a decision on his future as he is focused on capturing another state title for Grayson before he departs for college.

Ashley may have had the most impressive game of the entire event. He had 30 and 11 just by simply being a basketball player and understanding the flow of the game. It didn't look like he had any plays called for him, but by being positioned properly on the glass, he had three put backs. He also was able to use his frame to carve out space in the paint and pump fake his defenders, drawing them off balance and opening up visibility to finish off the glass. Ashley also had three blocks and a steal on the defensive side of the ball. Other scouts were raving about his game for the remainder of the event as well. Ashley has not yet decided on where he will attend college, but wherever he ends up will get a high motor, high-energy player who knows how to do all of the little things to help get wins for his squad.

Montonati put the entire field on notice from the first game where his Owasso team took down perennial powerhouse, LuHi, behind a 28 point 9 rebound effort. He showed an impressive ability to find open pockets on the court to get his shot off while never truly forcing the issue. Montonati rarely takes a bad shot within the flow of the game and shot just a shade under 50% over the four games Owasso played. He's very assertive on the offensive end but watching him, you don't get the feeling he's taking over and playing “me” ball. There were some occasions where the turnovers mounted for Montonati, so recognizing doubles coming his way a bit sooner and getting rid of it, or being a tad stronger with the ball can help reduce that. Montonati had more assists that led to the assist, rather than outright dimes, showing his understanding and high basketball IQ or passing his teammates open while being a focal point for defenses due to his offensive firepower. Montonati has not yet committed but holds offers from powerhouse programs all vying for his skills and playing style.

That's just the start of our list. Make sure to check back and see if your favorite high school player is on it or who else you should be keeping an eye on as the season rolls on.
