This past weekend on November 22nd-24th, New England Recruiting Report hosted the National Prep Showcase at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut. The unofficial kick-off to the high school basketball season in New England, the National Prep Showcase attracts not only some of the best prep school teams in the region but also the country. Teams faced off in competitive games during the three-day bonanza, in front of fans, media, scouts, and college coaches from all over the country and all division levels. Numerous players performed well and put themselves on the map in a big way. Here are the rest of my Top 10 players from the weekend!

[player_tooltip player_id='2641692' first='Cheickna' last='Sylla'] burst onto the scene this weekend and put himself on radars in a big way. Standing at 6 foot 10 with a built frame, he dominated the interior by working his way inside and making layups with a soft touch. His in-and-out post move was simple but effective, terrorizing thinner defenders throughout his minutes. He was also competing hard on the boards and using every bit of his length to grab rebounds through traffic. Lastly, he showed off his three-point stroke and it looked pretty smooth off the catch. The big man from Mali looks to be very productive for Bridgton this upcoming season and should be able to keep the momentum he gained from the National Prep Showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='2396736' first='Tony' last='Williams'] was putting the ball in the basket in multiple ways from the lead guard spot. A fearless driver, he was swerving into the paint and taking on contact for and-one finishes. He also was taking and hitting pull-up and step-back threes with confidence and fluidity, making for a deadly combination that was hard to stop for the opposing defenses. Additionally, he was moving the ball around the half-court, made some defensive rebounds, and took charges on the defensive end which resulted in big turnovers by putting his body on the line. The Fairfield commit was on a mission this weekend and absolutely succeeded with his play for Putnam Science.

[player_tooltip player_id='2546812' first='Nasir' last='Rodriguez'] was the other Fairfield commit who dominated on the court. An unstoppable bowling ball toward the basket, he was getting rim touches with ease and taking on contact with ferocity every time. This resulted in him getting to the line and forcing defenses to foul him with his constant pressuring drives. He became even more impossible to stop when he started lighting it up from the three-point line off the catch, and he ended up leading Northfield Mount Hermon in points during his game. I was also impressed with his decision-making with the ball and on-ball defensive intensity which resulted in some steals as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2325876' first='Naz' last='Meyer'] was a scoring machine during the National Prep Showcase with his ability to create offense for himself with the ball in his hands. He loved getting into the mid-range and creating separation to get into his off-the-dribble shot-making. He was driving to the rim with the ball while also cutting to the basket when he was playing off-the-ball, leading to tons of easy-point opportunities. He also showed off his athletic gifts by taking off from the line and slamming the ball home with authority. Lastly, he made some sweet passes within the New Hampton offense which kept the scoring output with him and his squad, which led to winning results. Wyoming should be pleased to receive his commitment.

[player_tooltip player_id='1532411' first='Timmy' last='Bollin'] impressed with his ability to take over the game in numerous ways that sometimes had nothing to do with scoring. Defensively, he was an absolute hound on the ball, forcing turnovers and creating transition offense. He was making great passes in the half-court and feeding his teammates by making good reads when the time called for them. He rebounded effectively and took advantage of his effort by pushing the ball down the court at all times. He even got into the scoring action too, pressuring the basket with hard drives to the rim and using his strength and toughness to make things happen. He should continue to be a massive contributor to Newman this season.
