The season is just around the corner. We have had a busy fall seeing players in various settings including camps, workouts, and open gyms. In our Market Corrections series there are two types of movement. First are new players that are moving into the rankings from the evaluations this fall. The second is prospects that made “significant” moves up the board. We will be breaking down both of these areas for each class along with the reasoning from the fall evaluations that made them names we wanted to correct before the season gets underway.

Here are Market Corrections: 2025 Significant Stock Boosters!

[player_tooltip player_id='1766507' first='Mitchel' last='Edwards'] (Carmi)

“Edwards is one of the better stretch four men remaining on the board in the 2025 class. The 6'7” power forward is a big time athlete that showed that off in numerous ways. Threw down a nasty dunk, blocked shots, got on the offensive glass, and runs the floor with ease. What makes him special is his shooting from the outside knocking down shots at a pretty consistent rate from three with a high arc on it.” – Pure Sweat Fall Showcase

[player_tooltip player_id='2617386' first='Dustyn' last='Collins'] (Centralia)

“Collins won MVP of the camp with a dominant performance. The 6'6” big man from the 618 earned the respect of top players from Chicago right from the jump with his play. His athleticism really stands out especially in and up and down setting. Runs the floor with a motor, throws down dunks, and swat shots. More than just a plus athlete as the power forward regularly stretched the floor with his perimeter shot making knocking down threes and crisp pull ups. Loved the motor that he played with on the glass both offensively and defensively.” – Prep Hoops EXPO

[player_tooltip player_id='2385167' first='Riley' last='Bauersachs'] (Pinckneyville)

“Bauersachs was excellent all night. From the drills to the games he was the best wing we saw at the camp. He continues to raise his stock each time we see him play. Possesses quality positional size at 6'5” with a flame thrower of a shot. He knocked them down at a high rate spotting up and pulling up from all over the floor. Whether it was off movement or with the ball in his hand. He has a free and easy release that was straight money all evening. In the first game he drained four triples alone. More than just a shooter he has good passing instincts working around ball screens throwing pick/roll dimes. Can deck it getting to the rim when he needs too for scores or soft touch finishes. Complete wing that had a dominant night!” – Pure Sweat Fall Showcase

[player_tooltip player_id='1838836' first='Jayden' last='McCoo'] (Mascoutah)

“McCoo might have been the best player on the floor. The Mascoutah 6'2” combo guard was dynamic on both sides of the ball. He is one of the premier perimeter defenders in southern Illinois as a lock down guy that has active hands, moves his feet, and takes pride in playing on that end of the floor. In an up and down setting you could see him really take pride in locking in on that end creating turnovers and points for himself and others. Offensively his speed is his calling card. Such an explosive ball handler that flies coast to coast and is a blur with the ball blowing past defenders in the half court. Rebounds well for his position sneaking in on the offensive end. Passing feel was also shown driving and kicking to shooters along with quick dishes for finishes. One of the most under recruited all-around players in the class.” – Pure Sweat Fall Showcase

[player_tooltip player_id='2617349' first='Aiden' last='Derose'] (Homewood Flossmoor)

“Derose really popped for us in July with [program_tooltip program_id='2078449' first='[program_tooltip program_id='2076910' first='Meanstreets' last='']' last=''] EYCL and he carried that momentum into this game with another strong performance. The 6'3” shooting guard has good size and a nice build with long arms. Impressed with how well he shot it from distance consistently hitting threes and mixing in some in the mid-range. Solid wing defender that can check multiple spots.” – Prep Hoops EXPO

[player_tooltip player_id='2321398' first='Zack' last='Sharkey'] (Marian Catholic)

“Sharkey with another terrific performance at the showcase. He has been the model of consistency in the mid-range game. Zack knew how to get to his spots on the court and knock down shots. It's shocking how this kid is still underrated in the state. He goes out and produces on the court each time I've watched him. Zack has a game that can fit any style of offense. Division 2 schools shouldn't overlook him.” – Steve Parham from Chi-Town Showcase

[player_tooltip player_id='2383264' first='Matthew' last='Smith'] (Mascoutah)

“Smith is a bouncy 6'7” post that runs the floor hard, finishes lobs, and can stretch with his shooting. Versatile player that can play inside and out on the offensive end. Liked how well he rebounded in his area on both ends.” – Pure Sweat Fall Showcase

[player_tooltip player_id='2617398' first='Javion' last='Thompson'] (Perspectives MSA)

“Thompson really bursts on our scene with a strong performance. The 6'5” forward has a good frame and plus athleticism. Pounded the glass. Sound wing defender who got after it on that end getting steals and taking them the other way for scores. Played well in the open floor. Mixed in a mid-range jumper.” – Prep Hoops EXPO

[player_tooltip player_id='2617443' first='Quintin' last='Wiencek'] (Plainfield North)

“Playing in his hometown the 6'5” small forward had a strong showing at the camp. Well built wing with size who is efficient with everything he does. Good wing rebounder, can post up weaker defenders, pushes in the open floor, gets to the line, and is a solid passer.” – Prep Hoops EXPO
