About Robinson: The Iowa State football commit was the captain of the All-Tournament team as a sophomore, leading a dominant Tigers to the first of their back-to-back state titles. Following the departure of Curtis Stinson Jr to a prep school in Ohio, Robinson will be the focal point of Valley's attack as a senior. He's one of the best athletes in the state, an explosive leaper who finishes above the rim with authority despite being listed at 6-0. He can score from all three levels, create plays off the dribble for himself and his teammates, and is a really good, active defender.

Why he can win Mr. Basketball: He already holds a pair of state titles on the hardwood, and he was the best player on the floor for one of those runs. If he's able to lead Valley to a 3-peat, it would be difficult to go against him, as he would need to be dominant to lead the Tigers to a third state championship. He's more than capable of doing so, and he's not so much the #2 player on this countdown as the 1B.
