The 11th annual Myrtle Chaffin Classic took place this past weekend at Mt. Zion Academy, the unofficial start to the season for prep and independent teams from all over. This year's event featured teams from NJ, PA, MD, VA, GA and CA, with tons of talent from all over taking place.

The Commonwealth Basketball Group (CBG) has put together an All Tournament team, with players from all the teams being represented. Here's a look at the players selected from teams in VA.

Panagiotis Paganos | 6'8” F | Massanutten '25 | First Team

Paganos was fantastic in his Elite Prep League debut, showing his vast skillset and versatility while also leading his team with 25 points in their win over TSF. The Greek native has already caught the eye of a number of coaches, as he's a talented 6'8” hybrid forward who brings a lot of the good stereotypes of European basketball to his game with his ability to dribble, shoot and pass at his size. He shot the ball well from deep and off the bounce, he made plays for others consistently, he was great on the offensive glass and he showed a good motor and played with emotion too.

Jaron “June” Walker | 6'2” CG | Massanutten '25 | Second Team

Walker is a player I think will be one of the biggest surprises in the EPL this year, as the Roanoke native has been playing lights out since he stepped foot on campus at Massanutten and played very well this past weekend too. At 6'2” he's a talented scoring guard that is athletic and can really fill it up in bunches when he gets it going. He's very good at creating space off the bounce, he can move off the ball where he can make shots from deep off the catch, he's an athletic finisher and he can make plays for others as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1225266' first='Jeremiah' last='Gorham'] | 5'11” CG | Highland School '25 | Second Team

Gorham is another player I expect to turn heads this year in the EPL, which he did in their win over TSF where he was their leading scorer. While he isn't the biggest guy Gorham is a strong and shifty guard who gets to his spots off the bounce and can score it in a lot of different ways. He showed great range from deep when he was left open, he got to the rim and showed a good middle game to negate his size and he brought it on the defensive end too.

Chance Perkins | 6'1” WG | Highland School '25 | Honorable Mention

Perkins is another player for Highland that is highly underrated going into their inaugural season in the EPL, as he's another scoring guard that can fill it up in bunches. He showed his tough shot making ability making contested shots from deep and in the midrange, and his ability to get hot and make shots is impressive. He played hard on both ends of the floor, impacting the game by doing the little things when he wasn't on one of his streaks.

[player_tooltip player_id='2459367' first='Shivas' last='Taylor'] | 6'3” WG | Highland School '26 | Honorable Mention

Taylor is one of the more unknown players on this Highland team, but if he plays the way he did in their win over TSF he won't be unknown for much longer that's for sure. Taylor shot the ball extremely well from deep, finishing with 16 points and hitting 4 three's in the game. He's a dead eye shooter from deep with good form, he understands spacing and how to get open and he sets his feet quickly to make shots on the move.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242380' first='Ruey' last='Ruey'] | 6'5” WG | Massanutten '26 | Honorable Mention

Ruey is Massanutten's sole returner from last year's team that made the National Prep Championship tournament, and while he was an Honorable Mention EPL selection who surprised with his steady play as a sophomore he's showing even more signs of improvement so far this year. He played with confidence on both ends this past weekend, as he made an array of shots and was very good defensively. He showed confidence in his catch-and-shoot from deep, was excellent getting to spots and scoring it efficiently in the midrange and he made great decisions as well.

Rashaad Williams | 5'11” PG | Massanutten '25 | Honorable Mention

Williams is a player that we are very familiar with as he was one of the best scoring guards in the 757 the last few years at Norfolk Collegiate, and now with a prep year he's showing he can run the show for this talented group as well. The Colonels have a deep backcourt with many scoring threats, and the way Williams got everyone involved while also picking his spots was impressive. He showed good wiggle off the bounce to get in the lane, he finished well over bigger defenders, he controlled the tempo and set the tone while making winning plays on both ends.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242371' first='Josh' last='Hamilton'] | 6'8” PF | Highland School '25 | Honorable Mention

Hamilton has dealt with quite a few injuries over the past year or so, but now that he's healthy he was extremely impressive playing alongside [player_tooltip player_id='1591317' first='Nate' last='Ament'] in their win over TSF. Hamilton showed his athleticism on both ends with numerous big time finishes above the rim as well as some impressive shot blocking on the defensive end. He moved well without the ball to get open with driving guards, he converted at a high clip from the free throw line and he was excellent on the glass on both ends.
