2027 Class 4A Fab 5

Over the next few weeks Prep Hoops SC will begin to preview the players and teams that you need to watch for this Winter, including the 2027 Class 4A Fab 5. This preview will go in-depth on the 5 highest-ranked Sophomores in Class 4A. This list includes prospects of various archetypes who will be eager to break out to College Coaches and begin to look for a home at the next level. He attends Wilson High School which plays in 4A Region 5. Leonard averaged 13.9 Points Per Game, 9.4 Rebounds Per Game, and 3.8 Assists Per Game last year in his second season on Varsity. Josh is an enticing prospect due to his physical and athletic profile. He has a strong frame at 6'5" and plays above the rim at both ends. Leonard can handle the rock, create his own shot going downhill, hit pull-up jump shots, and finish in transition. Jenkins averaged 7.5 Points Per Game, 8.6 Rebounds Per Game, and 2.2 Assists Per Game in 2023-24. He is an extremely versatile defender with long arms to force chaos, quick feet to switch onto guards, and good instincts in protecting the rim. Jenkins should take a big step up in terms of scoring in his Sophomore Season because he has confidence and skill at all three levels. Gamble led West Florence last season at 16.8 Points Per Game on 48% shooting. This year, he will get time in both spots in the backcourt for the Bruins. He has a great combination of scoring moves including spot-up threes, floaters, through-contact layups, and mid-range jump shots. Gamble is also a good passer, excels in transition, and is a very capable on-ball defender. McGraw was a State Champion last season in 2A, averaging 3.9 Points Per Game. The War Eagles were reclassified to 4A and placed in 4A Region 4, but they are still one of the teams to beat in the Palmetto State. Hunter is a knockdown shooter from behind the arc and in the mid-range, and off the dribble and the catch. With good positional size, he can shoot over defenders or use his handle to create space. Ross was a piece to the Darlington High School puzzle last season which ended in the 3A State Championship Game with a loss to Powdersville. The Falcons are now in 4A Region 5. Deron brings physicality to the floor from his guard position. He will crash both sides of the glass, get paint touches, and finish around bigger bodies.
