ZG Rumble for the Ring Varsity Division Standouts: Part 3

I attended the Zero Gravity Rumble for the Ring this weekend and watched the American division teams compete at Dana Barros Basketball Club in Stoughton, MA on Saturday.   As always, it's impossible to get eyes on every team and every kid, but here are SOME of the players that stood out. Part 3 below. This is now the second time I've seen Klass play and I'm even more impressed with him this time around. He has a really advanced understanding of pick-and-roll reads and throws on time, on target passes with lots of pace to open shooters on the three-point line. Klass is also an excellent finisher at the hoop, especially with his strong-hand left; you know he's going that way, but you can't stop him. Great touch off the backboard and good hang time, also. He could definitely be a D2 player at the next level, but D1 would shock me and D3 is certainly also on the table.     Williams is only a junior but has physical tools and athleticism you just can't teach. He's 6-foot-6 with incredibly long arms and phenomenal jumping ability. He uses these tools to stifle drivers at the rim and get steals against ball handlers on the perimeter. His offensive skills are still coming along and he needs to learn how to exist in his body, but he's got time to do so. Bright future ahead for Williams – his ceiling is probably the D2 level but somewhere D3 is likely more realistic unless he improves his offensive skillset.     For his age, Robinson was incredibly impressive on the defensive end of the floor. He matched up with both Hynes and Alekseyenko – two of the best players at the tournament (and two players who are a lot older than him) – and held his own, even taking their cookies a couple of times. He has big time athletic tools and the size to pair with it. He's maybe the most intriguing prospect at the entire tournament, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him getting scholarship looks when the time comes.     Creedon is a little jitterbug out there on the court. Defensively, he slides his feet incredibly well and is a pest to opposing point guards. Offensively, he never stops moving and cutting and is constantly attacking the paint with the dribble. He can also knock down the open three, but his release isn't the quickest. Size and strength will definitely be his limiting factor, but Creedon could perhaps find his way onto a local D3 roster. I bet he's also good at another sport if I had to guess – total athlete.     Fein is a smart and cerebral combo guard who was getting into the paint at will all day. He's got excellent finishing touch at the rim and can hit floaters from a variety of different distances and angles, and he also has solid vision. At times, he got a little too confident finishing amongst the trees, but that's likely because he was easily the most effective initiator of his team's offense. I would slot Fein in at the D3 level, with high D3 potential if he can put on some muscle in the next year or two.
