Fein, a guard out of Norwell High School in Massachusetts, wrapped up his high school career with some national headlines as his playoff game-winner against Swampscott made ESPN’s Top 10 Plays. Fein is a 6’1″, high academic, playmaking guard that does a nice job of balancing his scoring with his playmaking duties. He plays with good pace in the half-court, can change directions quickly off the bounce, and has impressive vision as a passer. As a scorer, he finishes with touch in the paint and is capable of making threes off the bounce or in catch and shoot situations. Defensively, he knows how to play angles and plays with both strength and aggressiveness at the point of attack. He remains undecided on a college destination.

Fein is an all-around athlete who has really impressed me this season with the little things he’s able to do for his squad. Defensively, he’s phenomenal in the passing lanes and causes absolute havoc on that end with his instincts and length. He has already had a good number of breakaway steals this year, both on and off the ball. Offensively, the 6-foot guard uses his athleticism and length to extend for finishes at the hoop, and he also shoots it well from the perimeter. An improved handle would be really huge for his college hopes, but he can probably get it done.

Fein is a smart and cerebral combo guard who was getting into the paint at will all day. He’s got excellent finishing touch at the rim and can hit floaters from a variety of different distances and angles, and he also has solid vision. At times, he got a little too confident finishing amongst the trees, but that’s likely because he was easily the most effective initiator of his team’s offense. I would slot Fein in at the D3 level, with high D3 potential if he can put on some muscle in the next year or two.
