Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Klass was Beverly’s best player this year and cemented himself as an MIAA legend by becoming Beverly’s all-time leading scorer. The 5-foot-11 lefty really improved his off-ball game this year, consistently getting 6-8 points a game from cuts to the rim. But he can also score by gliding to the rim for layups as a result of his quickness and shiftiness with the ball. Klass can shoot the rock from the outside, too. Though Beverly’s postseason didn’t finish how they wanted, their senior captain did enough to earn himself a spot on this list.

With his 30 point performance in round one, Klass became the all-time leading scorer in Beverly High School history. He passed Rick Brunson—yes, Jalen Brunson’s father—for the record. His well-rounded scoring attack, as well as his ability to get his teammates involved (he had 6 assists against Quincy), has been quite impressive to watch this season. Now he’s in the record books forever.

Klass leads a talented Beverly squad that started the year as one of the MIAA favorites. The 6-foot-1 guard has had an excellent season scoring the ball from all three levels; he takes contact very well at the rim and gets fouled quite a bit, but he can also get hot from the mid range and three. He needs to do a better job getting his teammates involved like

Klass was Beverly’s leading scorer, but he didn’t do it with any three-point shots. The 6-foot-1 guard showcased excellent strength and hang-time on a number of lefty drives to the rim; he does a great job taking contact and still finishing through it, and he was a foul-drawing machine against Lowell’s front line yesterday. His increased willingness to cut off the ball and find ways to affect the game without the rock has made him a more lethal offensive player, and a D3 program will be lucky to get him. Klass will slot in at the D3 level but could be an excellent player if he continues to improve his feel.

Klass is one of the best players in the entire MIAA. The senior guard recently scored his thousandth point, and he’s poised to be the leader of a team that should make a relatively deep playoff run this season. Despite being only 6-foot-1, the lefty gets above the rim for finishes and does an excellent job taking contact in the air. He can also make shots from long range off of both the catch and the dribble, and I’ve been impressed with the strides he has made this season in terms of cutting and moving without the ball in his hands. He’s a high level D3 player.

Klass didn’t have his three point shot going in Tuesday’s championship game, but he still changed the game offensively with his ability to play both on and off the ball. He had a good number of takes to the rim and did a good job taking contact at the hoop, but he also did a good job cutting off the ball and slashing to the rim for easy buckets. The lefty needs to learn how to impact the game more with his passing, but that’ll come with time. He’s going to be an awesome D3 player from the start next year.

Klass, a senior guard out of Beverly High School, has a chance to lead the state in scoring this winter while helping his squad win a lot of games. He’s really good in isolation situations, showing some wiggle with the ball in his hands and the ability to get anywhere he wants on the floor off the bounce. He has good vision as a facilitator, knows how to operate out of ball screens, and can score it at all three levels. On the other end of the floor, he generates a high number of turnovers with his quickness.

If you told me Klass would be the highest scoring player in the entire MIAA this season, I wouldn’t bat an eye. He averaged 24 points per game last year for a really good Beverly team, and he looks even quicker and more athletic when I’ve seen him more recently. He has a very speedy first step, which he uses to breeze by defenders to get to the rim; once he gets there, he has really solid athleticism and some pretty special finishing chops. He also strokes it from three and has VERY deep range. And teams won’t be able to double team him this year either, because Beverly has a really solid supporting cast with some college-level players. Huge year ahead for Klass.

Klass comes off a Northeastern Conference player of the year run in 2024, and he’s back for more with Beverly this year. The 6-foot-1 lefty might be the most exciting scorer in the MIAA and truly doesn’t have an offensive weakness. He has an excellent handle and can glide to the rim with his lightning quick first step, but he also has good footwork, balance, and shooting form, which allows him to make shots from both the mid range and three. Klass also has really solid passing vision and can make reads in a variety of situations on the ball. He could be the best player in the MIAA this season and would probably be an excellent prep player, especially if he were able to lean into more of his playmaking ability.

Klass is an MIAA legend and for good reason. The 6-foot-1 lefty guard is so shifty with the ball in his hands and can shoot it with consistency as soon as he crosses half court. On Monday night, he had his way with whoever was guarding him and made shots from everywhere on the floor despite the outdoor conditions. Additionally, he has a knack for getting into the body of the big and then peeling away for southpaw finishes — he had a couple of these that totally wow’d me. If Klass has another great MIAA season and then reclasses at a prep school to become class of 2027, I could totally see him garnering some scholarship interest.
