It is officially rankings update time here at the Pope Hoops Indiana headquarters. On Monday we released our updated and expanded Class of 2027 Prospect Rankings featuring our Top 50 prospects along with a loaded Watch List of over 300 more players. In total, we added 118 new names to this rankings update from what we previously had released. We are really proud of the work that went into making that happen. Now, we will spend the week diving deeper into the rankings with positional breakdowns, stock-risers, new names, and a look at some of the names to know on the Watch List. Let's begin here by highlighting six of the top stock-risers in this rankings update.

Typically we only highlight stock-risers who either jump 10 or more spots in the rankings or jumped from the Watch List into the rankings. However, moving six spots when you were already considered a Top 15 prospect is not easy to do. That is what Warren Central sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2140392' first='JJ' last='Craig'] did moving from #13 to #7 overall in the Class of 2027. His physical tools and two-way ability on the wing makes him a surefire Division I prospect. Schools need to get on him sooner rather than later before he really blows up.

We first saw McKinney at our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase over a year ago and obviously were immediately impressed with his size. However, almost everything about his game was theoretical at that point. He was raw and it was hard to gauge just how high his ceiling was aside from the obvious size and length. That has changed now and that is why McKinney is a Top 10 prospect checking in at #8 overall. He has gotten stronger, more polished around the basket, and even flashes some burgeoning face-up ability. The sky is the limit in terms of how high he could eventually climb.

When we originally expanded our 2027 rankings from a Top 10 to a Top 25 I threw Hunter in at #25 because I was so impressed with his play in June. However, I admittedly didn't know exactly how good he was or even if I thought he truly would remain a Top 25 prospect. I just hadn't seen him enough. Now, a few months later, not only was I right to include him in the Top 25 but that proved to not be high enough. The 6'1" point guard jumped to #12 in the class and has already earned his first Division I scholarship offer from SIU-Edwardsville.

We didn't get a chance to see Murans play as much as we would have liked in the summer, but that is why we stay in the gym all year around. After showcasing obvious size, length, and athleticism as a super raw freshman, the skill level is starting to pop for Murans. We watched him workout one morning with Guerin Catholic and then saw him play in the first weekend of the Metro Indy Fall League and that was enough to convince us that he is now a legitimate Top 25 prospect in the Class of 2027. His catch-and-shoot ability has really progressed and is the most intriguing.

Welker had a strong freshman season at Homestead but then really burst onto the scene over the summer playing with [program_tooltip program_id='2470527' first='Indy' last='Heat Red']. The 6'6" forward is so versatile and much more fluid athletically than you may immediately think. He can make multiple dribble moves and change directions while driving from the perimeter, knock down catch-and-shoot three-point shots, or use his size to punish smaller defenders inside. Welker makes his debut inside our Top 25 at #23 overall.

One of three super talented freshmen at Liberty Christian High School that helped lead them within one game of the Class 1A State Finals, Fuller makes his debut inside of our Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2027 Prospect Rankings at #29. The 5'9" dynamic point guard put up impressive numbers as a freshman, played well through the summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] on the EYBL Circuit, and is now poised to breakout even further as a sophomore.
