Here at Prep Hoops Indiana we pride ourselves on covering the ENTIRE state and being in the gym as much as possible. Sometimes that means you have to get in the car and cover some distance. Each fall I make it a point to go down and cover a Sunday at the [program_tooltip program_id='2076930' first='Pocket' last='City Basketball'] Fall League. This outstanding event brings many of the best players in the greater Evansville area together under one roof at Gibson Southern High School on four Sundays in the month of October. This Sunday, October 13th, I made my annual trip to take in the action. One of the best parts of making a trip like this a little further from home is that I inevitably find several "new names" that I either wasn't aware of at all before or hadn't had a chance to see play live. Here are seven prospects who really burst onto the scene at the Pocket City Fall League.

As I sat down to write this, I admittedly didn't know that Breeden was just a freshman. Now I like him even more. The 6'4” wing from Evansville Mater Dei High School scored 12 points in the first game of the day which included a couple of three-point shots. Then, he backed it up with essentially the exact same production in game two. His fluid athleticism and versatility at a young age is very, very impressive. I assume we will see him at the varsity level right away this winter.

You can't teach the positional size and length that this prospect has on the wing. The under-the-radar junior from Vincennes Rivet High School impressed with his athleticism when driving to the basket and how shifty he was with the ball in his hands. At 6'4” those perimeter skills should allow him to really blossom as a two-way perimeter threat this coming season.

We have certainly heard Lamb's name before through his success at Gibson Southern High School, but he really captured our attention while getting to watch him play live at his home gym on Sunday at the Pocket City Fall League. He shot the ball well from three-point range, attacked closeouts to finish in the midrange, and was a willing defender on the perimeter as well. Lamb finished his day by scoring 15 of his 17 points in the second half.

Long burst onto the scene in game one on Sunday scoring 24 points which made him one of the leading single-game scorers on the day. A 6'0” senior guard from Castle High School, we weren't previously familiar with his game but that is why it is so valuable to make trips down to the Pocket City Fall League. We always end up coming across a few diamonds in the rough. Long finished with 10 points in his second game of the day.

Newson scored 19 points in one of his two games on Sunday showcasing impressive straight-line quickness, pace with the ball in his hands, and then some explosiveness at the end of his drives to finish. The junior at Princeton Community High School should factor into what will be a very good team this season. He has real two-way ability in the backcourt.

Another Princeton Community High School product that shined at the Pocket City Fall League on Sunday. He is explosively athletic end-to-end displaying the speed, strength, and burst to get coast-to-coast in a hurry. Price had success as a downhill driver and was creative as a finisher when he would get to the rim. He scored 14 points in one of his games while also proving to be a pesky on-ball defender.

We have technically been familiar with Smith as a prospect since his strong junior season averaging double-figures for Evansville Central. However, Sunday at the Pocket City Fall League was the first time we can confidently say we've seen him in person. The 6'2” left-handed guard as a strong frame and scored the ball well from several different spots on the floor throughout his two games. That included scoring 20 points in game two including 16 in the second half. Good under-the-radar prospect to keep an eye on through his senior season.
