Here's a look at a few notable standouts from the 3v3 showcase who caught my attention last Sunday in Plainfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='2617383' first='Donovan' last='Williams']

Lengthy point guard did a good job attacking the rim and creating his own shot. Strong and-one conversion halfway through the 2nd round of games. As a defender, he did an outstanding job closing out players on the perimeter. Quick on his feet to keep guys in front of him. Plays for Stevenson.

[player_tooltip player_id='2617453' first='Sebastian' last='Peppers']

Used his long wingspan to force several loose balls on the defensive end. As a scorer, you see tons of confidence shooting from outside and buried a handful of 3-pointers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2617353' first='Andre' last='Tyler']

To open the third round of games, Tyler drained a midrange and-one while being heavily guarded. Some really aggressive dunks in the games before this, too. But an eye-opening piece to Tyler's game was his ability to communicate effectively. Which gets effectively more important as you continue to play at higher levels.

[player_tooltip player_id='2617389' first='Gage' last='Peterson']

2026 Waltonville prospect has the physical tools to be a solid wingman at the next level. Shows an ability to score from all three levels offensively. Very intrigued by a step-back 3-pointer towards the end of the third segment.

[player_tooltip player_id='2617438' first='Noah' last='Smith']

Smith's a name that shouldn't be overlooked. Made very positive contributions to the 3v3 drills. Fought for boards over multiple opponents while showing good distribution skills. Knew exactly what to do with the ball before he received it. 6'3” 2026 Combo from Oswego East.

[player_tooltip player_id='2617362' first='Brent' last='Taylor']

High-energy 6'3” guard from Homewood-Flossmor. Buried several smooth jumpers from both the midrange and behind the arc. Good playmaker, too and got everyone involved. Almost had a ferocious dunk in the fifth round of games.

Kevin Salkauskas

2028 prospect looked really good against older competition. Aggressive defender both in the paint and on the perimeter. Rebounded well when I watched him and shot at a good clip. Will definitely be a name to watch in the future.
