Freshman Series: Best Wings and Bigs

In this article you will find the best wings and bigs entering high school. There are some crafty scorers and high flyers in this class. He has the size and skill to put up a double-double just about every AAU circuit game. This high school season he will be getting some playing time with the varsity team. From what I have seen in the varsity fall league, he has been running the floor well and uses his length to his advantage on defense. Although he is just a freshman, he is already a starter for Desert Pines. Jaden covers ground very well due to his lateral quickness and long wingspan. He does a great job using his length to come up with blocks and steals. On offense, he can splash 3's and pull-up jumpers. The Faith Lutheran forward can fill it up from beyond the arc and can score in the paint as well. His ability to hit shots from everywhere makes him difficult to guard. His athleticism also comes in handy on defense. The 6'7 forward has an incredibly consistent 3-point shot and has the ability to hit two to three in a row. On defense, he can block shots and grabs a decent amount of rebounds. Right now it looks like he will play for the Bishop Gorman JV team this season. He has some speed and can use it to go coast to coast with the ball. Washington also has a good looking shooting stroke, and can hit from distance. His size and power make him tough to contain on offense. He also uses his frame wisely when going up for rebounds. If he can get more consistent with his mid-range game, he'll be an even tougher guard. He plays with a ton of energy and makes a lot of plays that don't always end up on the stat sheet. His determination when he goes after rebounds is another trait that sets him apart. He is insanely athletic, and swats a lot of shots on defense. On offense, he likes to drive hard with the ball and can throw down a dunk if the opportunity presents itself. His motor and effort are some of his other top attributes. His height also gives him an advantage when it comes to getting put-backs and offensive rebounds.
