The fall is when football takes center stage in Ohio and on Friday nights across America at the high school level. During this month without a ton of basketball events taking place, I thought it was the perfect time to spotlight some of the top multi-sport standouts in Ohio that also excel on the hardwood. This will be the first spotlight article for 2025 prospects and we are staying with guards.

The Sandusky guard has attracted multiple scholarship offers on the hardwood but has stayed busy this fall. After missing the first three football games of the season, Henlon has hit the ground running as the quarterback for the Blue Streaks. Last Friday night Henlon threw four first half touchdowns enroute to a 42-0 victory.

Another player with four passing touchdowns last Friday, Davis has led Steubenville to a 7-0 record and it appears like the Big Red will be in the mix to compete for a state championship. Davis won't be going far after this season, he's already committed to nearby West Liberty to continue his academic and athletic career.

Another West Liberty commit, Montgomery is a standout on the soccer field as he's helped Minford become a southeast Ohio powerhouse in the fall and winter. Earlier in a game this season Montgomery had four assists in a win over Mcdermott Northwest and also had two goals and an assist in a win over Lucasville Valley.

A football first prospect unlike some of the previous names we've mentioned, Griffin had three touchdowns in Reynoldsburg's victory over Groveport Madison. The Raiders have won two in a row after starting the year 1-4 and seem to be hitting their stride before the playoffs get underway.

New Lexington is 6-1 thanks to a high powered offense that Stephens is in complete command of. The Panthers have scored 44 or more points in four out of seven games this season and are projected to be one of the top seeds in region 15. One of the best players in the MVL on the gridiron and hardwood, Stephens is an athlete that people outside of just southeast Ohio should know about.
