It seems like size and height are talked about more than ever when looking at or evaluating prospects. But size is definitely not the end all when talking about how good or how effective a player is. In fact, here in Michigan there are plenty of seniors under 6'0" that are among the best in the state, and even beyond that. We're going to look at 5 dominant senior players that are under 6'0".

I've been saying this since Stone entered high school - You have to ignore his height because he'll go circles around players taller than him. Stone has developed into one of the best players in the state regardless of class and 1 of the best players under 6'0" in the midwest. He has elite smoothness and ball skills.

Blackwell is a shining example of height not necessarily meaning wins. He's under 6'0", but all he does is win. Blackwell wins on the court, to the tune of a school's first ever state championship. And he wins off the court to the tune of D1 offers. Blackwell is an elite floor general that will almost surely average double digit assists this season.

Thompkins has taken his talents to Muskegon, and that could be rough news for the rest of the state. Thompkins may not be tall, but he doesn't need to be. He's a flat out pit bull on the basketball court. Thompkins has a next level frame and next level strength. And he uses those effectively to dominate taller guards.

Perryman is an elite guard in Michigan and his height has been nothing but a help. He's electric with the ball in his hands. Perryman can work work right to left as well as left to right and he has excellent body control when in the air finishing at the rim. He can bury jumpers off the catch and pulling up off the bounce.

I've always felt like Holder was underrated and underestimated. His skills match up with, and exceed, those of many players that are much taller. Holder is a high IQ player that can be trusted to get the ball where it needs to be. His game is much more than that though. Holder can fill it up from beyond the arc at a very high percentage.
