He came out to one of my open runs just before his high school career began. I heard all the “why nots” as far as his game. Too small. Not strong enough. Can’t get shots up in traffic. Yeah, none of that was ever accurate. I love watching and seeing where he’s taken his game. Stone is one of the slickest lead guards in the midwest and currently ranked as the #2 senior in the state. I’m so lucky to have watched him hush the doubters.

I’ve been saying this since Stone entered high school – You have to ignore his height because he’ll go circles around players taller than him. Stone has developed into one of the best players in the state regardless of class and 1 of the best players under 6’0″ in the midwest. He has elite smoothness and ball skills.

Stone could stake claim to one of the best pure passers in the midwest if you ask me. The University of Detroit commit has such incredible court vision. It’s not just that he sees the action around him, it’s that it seems like he sees it in slow motion. Stone can use angles on his passes that allow him to shred defenses.

Stone was just lights out this spring and summer. Really, he just got better as the warm weather rolled along. Stone may have a small frame, but her has a huge game. I’ve been watching him eat bigger players for breakfast since 8th grade and that continued this summer. Stone was one of the top playmakers in the midwest with Unified.

Sone has been on a tear this spring and summer, making him a national recruiting target. Why come to The Expo? To quiet all the doubters. Stone could come into the expo, dominate and send a very loud message. He’s an elite ball handler and a dynamic guard that could put on an all time show!

things this weekend. He’s been on an absolute tear this spring and summer. Don’t know if we’ve seen a defender able to stay in front of him. Stone has been a puppeteer with the ball in his hands, basically dictating every move the defense makes.

Another great small guard on day 2 was Lance Stone from Michigan Unified. Lance was tough to stop all day getting into the paint. Lance is a true PG and a fantastic passer. Lance knocked down a handful of tough jump shots, and he’s a real challenge to stay in front of. Lance hit a huge shot to win Michigan Unified a game and was one of the biggest standouts of the day for me.

There are a lot of high level point guards in the class of 2025 and a wide variety of rankings among them. But Stone has continued to show that he is among the best of them. He’s scored over 1000 points in his high school career so far and was recently named Mr. PSL. Stone is crafty with the ball and is an elite playmaker.

Stone has been nothing short of great all season and that includes over the holidays so far. In a hard fought win against Roseville, Stone went off for 32 points. And scoring is just part of what he does well, Stone has a field goal percentage around 70% and he’s shooting well above 60% from beyond the arc. He’s one of the most well rounded and efficient players in the state.
