In a fast paced, turnover-ridden game, Amir was able to slow it down and control the pace. With a very quick first step, Amir got down hill and displayed the ability to finish in a crowded paint. Perryman is willing and able to knock one down from three. With a nice looking shot, he can’t be left alone beyond the arc. Amir played with composure while not getting left behind in an up and down the court kind of game.

Perryman was key to gaining control of the chaotic start to the game. Without his handles and quickness, it may not have been possible. Perryman buried a 3 off the bounce and was fouled on another triple attempt. He added a righty take to the rim for 2 and a handful of free throws.

Perryman is a really fun prospect to watch. He’s embraced the role of floor general and his game has taken off with that. Perryman is quick with the ball, allowing him to put defenders on his hip and make plays off the bounce. Some college program could get a steal with this star.

Remember how we mentioned controlling the pace above? It all started with this guy. Perryman was comfortable and effective the entire game. Let’s start with ball pressure. When he was pressured , he smoothly dribbled through it with so much poise and control. Perryman was really comfortable working left to right and was able to shake defenders with his handles as well as use blow by speed to get to the rim and score. He scored from multiple levels, including a tough step back baseline jumper. Perryman was just so smart and so unselfish with the ball.

Perryman is known for his speed, ball handling and creativity. Deservedly so, and those have continued to be elite strengths for the skilled guard. But his passing has really stood out so far this month. Perryman has shown terrific court vision, specifically with his ability to find teammates in open space near the rim.

Perryman has proven to be slippery for opposing defenses all season long. I wrote about him and how impressed I was with his first step speed earlier in the season. That has continued all season long. Perryman is also tough to defend because he applies his speed and quickness with his head up and reacting to the action in front of him. This makes Perryman’s fast even faster.
