Varsity Fall League: Tuesday’s Standouts

The elusive guard got to his spots and knocked down a few nice shots. In the first half he hit a pull-up jumper and a floater on back to back possessions. The small forward put up 29 points, 10 rebounds, and also had 6 blocks for his new Basic team. I was very impressed by his ball handling skills and athleticism. Defenders had a very tough time staying in front of him. He sliced through the entire defense a couple times for lay-ups and dunks. Defensively, he used his wingspan to collect blocks and had a few steals that led to transition points. It was my first time seeing him on Tuesday and I liked what I saw. He drained three 3-Pointers and also showcased his ability to rebound. His best attributes might be the energy and effort that he plays with. On Tuesday night, the senior guard displayed his speed and deceleration skills. He did a really great job keep defenders off balance and drove to the rim often against Centennial. "JT" also showed his range and connected on a few 3-pointers. He does a lot of the little things to help his team win. I noticed him moving off ball, fighting for rebounds, and he played stout defense as well.
