The Expo: Oregon - Team Seven Scouting Report

Last Sunday, the Prep Hoops Oregon Expo went down at the Beaverton YMCA. We have been going team-by-team to release scouting reports for each player at the event. Here is the scouting report on team seven.    He did a great job chasing down loose balls and long rebounds, staying active and fighting to get more opportunities for his squad. Also made some hustle plays in transition, chasing down ballhandlers from behind to create turnovers that led to quick buckets. Also showed some confidence from long-range to size up his man and bury outside shots.     He's a quick guard who stayed engaged throughout the play and was able to get in the mix inside to fight for tipped rebounds, putting a couple back up and in himself. Also showed a decent stroke from 3-point and did a good job working to open spots along the arc for kicks and swings.     Pretty pacy guard who was able to score from different levels. Had some nice finishes inside, scooping shots around shot-blockers and sinking some controlled floaters in transition. Used his pace to get defenders moving back then stopped on a dime to drain pull-ups with pretty good efficiency too.     He's a strong guard who did a great job using that strength to get to the cup and was especially effective driving down the left side and finishing with the off-hand. Pushed the ball off rebounds and outlets and did well to weave past defenders and get the ball up the court. Also showed some nice range by burying some threes.     The lefty proved to be a pretty reliable shooter from deep both off the catch and the dribble. Showed he can shoot from different pockets, catching one corner three up high and letting it go without bringing it back down to capitalize on the short shooting window. Was also a factor on the glass with his size.     Smaller guard who did a good job staying active off the ball, getting behind the defense in transition, making good cuts, and floating around the perimeter. That movement led to him sinking a game-winner from the corner as the buzzer sounded in one game. He was also pretty solid on the defensive end, cutting off drives both on the ball and slipping off his man to help close down lanes.     A good hustler who made some plays in transition to stop breaks and give time for his teammates to get back. Hard screener and roller who was also able to make some good flashes and sink midrange shots. Later on, started to use his size inside to get deep position and finish over defenders at the rim.     Played a big role on the glass on both ends, securing defensive boards and fighting to keep possessions alive on the offensive end. High-pointed some big rebounds and made his size felt in the paint. Was a solid rim defender but also showed some good awareness with passes along the perimeter to find open shooters with skips.     Really solid overall performance for the wing. Played well defensively to tip and jump some passes, made some nice long outlets up the court, and showed some really good potential with downhill drives. Was able to go both ways on drives and had some good elusiveness for his size. Also hit some outside shots and was able to affect the game in a lot of ways.
