Had Team Oregon won the Northwest Shootout, [player_tooltip player_id='1582928' first='Zamir' last='Paschal'] would have been a main candidate for game MVP honors. The 6-foot senior guard was flat out unstoppable at times and there was a definite difference when he was in the game versus when he wasn't, and while his squad wasn't able to come home with the victory the entire time he participated in the event will be something "Bam" will never forget.

"The experience was pretty fun," Paschal said. "I got to make a lot of new relationships with a lot of top prospects from Oregon - people that I wasn't lucky enough to have as teammates, but doing this, it brought us closer together, so I'm thankful for that. The game was fun - probably one of the funnest games I've been a part of, actually, just having fun, just trying to put on for my state."

It was a no-brainer for Paschal to be named to the team - especially considering he was 6A First Team All-State and Mt Hood Conference Player of the Year. It's all a reward for the great season he put together - one where he helped lead Central Catholic to the cusp of another state championship.

"I feel like I was blessed this year," Paschal said. "Had a lot of highlights, got to make a lot of good relationships with this new team that we had. We had a good team this year, fell short, but the relationships that we built this year, I'll never forget them. And I feel like I improved just getting my teammates open and not just scoring for myself, but making my teammates better."

Now, the question is - where will Paschal play his college ball? He remains unsigned, but notes that he's been talking to schools such as Washington State, Sacramento State, Idaho, UNLV, Montana, and Portland State among others. The key will be timing and he's staying patient with the process.

"Right now, I'm having a lot of interest from a lot of coaches and colleges, and once the transfer portal ends, like around early May, I should be having a better decision on where I'm going to commit to," Paschal said. "Hopefully, one of the D1 schools are able to offer me and I'll commit there, but definitely see me at the collegiate level. So I'm just going to wait out the portal and see what happens."
