August 19th-20th Cedric Cobb Sr and I had the 7th annual Southwest Basketball Camp at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ. 120 players from a few states came to gain exposure in front of college coaches and scouts plus compete versus some top end players over the two days.

Each player competed in 5 games for the two days plus 60 competed in an extra All-Star Game. (Top-20, Top-40 and a Non-Senior All-Star Game)

We take a look at each team's standouts.

We move over to Team UCLA

Played/Made Top-20 Game

[player_tooltip player_id='1598395' first='David' last='Leszczynski'] Paradise Honors

A combo guard who is a natural bucket from all three levels. He can fall away from mid-range off the dribble, he changes speed and will get downhill, hit the catch three, pull-up from mid and even post up his defender. He should have a big year this season.

Played/Made Top-40 Game

[player_tooltip player_id='1451024' first='Mateen' last='Usui'] Archbishop Murphy/WA (Pictured)

A face-up power forward who rebounds well and he is a fluid athlete with a nice frame. He can step out and shoot the three plus from mid. He will dunk it easily plus uses the floater game. The Washington native has upside and if he can work inside a tad more, he may be even more coveted.

[player_tooltip player_id='1900362' first='Colby' last='Jessup'] Valley Christian

A scoring point guard showed off his skill and high feel on the two days. He will throw passes up the court on a rope and drive and kick it to a teammate. He can pull-up from the three or launch deep shots off the catch with real range. He is crafty, intelligent and skilled.

Played/Made Non-Senior Game

[player_tooltip player_id='2466405' first='Marcus' last='Williams'] Goldwater

A wing forward does a little bit of everything. He moves the ball and plays the game with a high feel. He will rebound the ball and take it up the court and can make a play. The high academic wing can score with jumpers and get to the basket.

Other Standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='1938362' first='Jamison' last='Fox'] Arcadia

A long and quickly growing power forward with skill and soft hands. He could not attend on Tuesday night and would have been in one of the top all-star games. He will score on put backs, he cuts off the ball and rebounds well for position. He will alter or block shots in his area.

[player_tooltip player_id='2466364' first='Gabe' last='Coronado'] Catalina Foothills

A bigger shooting guard can score it. He will hesitate and get to the basket to score. He can hit the catch three with a super quick release and pull-up from mid-range. He will close out to shooters and even block shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2533651' first='Bentley' last='Elrod'] Saguaro

A bigger scoring guard can shoot it from the three point line. He plays smartly around the basket and will cut off the ball for buckets. He can make shots and will rebound and defend. Elrod is one of a couple immediate varsity players for the Sabercats and you see why.

[player_tooltip player_id='2533646' first='Ryder' last='Brainis'] Rancho Solano Prep

A pure point guard is already gaining some minutes on varsity. He handles the ball well and sees the court quickly with up the court passes. He sprayed the ball around for a bunch of assists. He is sneaky quick to get downhill and will score with layups and can make perimeter jumpers.
