Timmons had a good summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2076957' first='Louisiana' last='Elite'] after a very good high school season. He can play inside and out while defending everything in the front court for AB Hannan. Playing on the wing is a natural fit for him because he can shoot and handle the ball. He is definitely a top tier talent in this state.

Shoemaker is as versatile as they come on the hardwood. He is another player who has guard skills but can play in the front court as well. Garrett can score from all three levels. He is also a player who will finish above a player if he gets a straight line drive to do so. His long frame also allows him to play rim protector on the high school level. Shoemaker is a multi-talented player who is a difference maker on both ends of the floor.

The Bonnabel guard is a player who can dominate on both ends of the floor. He plays with a ton of energy and is hard to stop when he gets going. Lucas has quick hands with a great vertical. This allows him to block shots and play passing lanes on defense. Offensively, he can attack the rim or shoot from deep. Jeremiah is an off guard some schools on the next level would love to have because of his style of play.

Butler, a recent Jackson State commit, continued to improve all summer. His play in the New Orleans pro-am league and on the travel circuit allowed him to work on his mid-range game. Becoming a better shooter added a dimension to his game. He was already very good in transition, attacking the rim and scoring from offensive rebounds. His finishing ability and enhanced shooting, coupled with his defensive prowess, make him a high level, two-way player.

Ferguson is probably the most athletic guard in the top ten. His ability to attack the rim constantly puts pressure on defenses. With defenses on their heels, it allows Ferguson cleaner looks to shoot from distance. On the defensive end, he plays aggressive, man-to-man defense. The athlete Xavier is makes the difference for him on both ends. He can change a game with explosive plays on offense or defense.

Lindo continues to improve as a forward. He is the best post scorer in the state and is also a very good rebounder and post defender. His athletic ability also allows him to defend multiple positions. Lindo is a strong player and can rebound and finish through contact. His improvement has made him a top ten player.

Dean-Woods may have had the best summer of all players in the top ten. His play on the EYCL and during other live tournaments helped raise his stock tremendously. Kerel has a feathery touch from deep and can take forwards off the dribble. His continued improvement has allowed him to become a three level scorer. Dean-Woods also saw his defense improve which makes him even more attractive for the next level.

Jones did not compete during the second live period. However, he made his mark during the school year and the beginning of the travel season. Jones is a big guard who burrows through contact. He can finish at the rim and shoot the ball from distance. His game allows him to play both guard positions at a high level. Jones has the physique, ball-handling, and shooting to be an elite guard.

Murphy is the best all-around basketball player we have in the state. His willingness to do whatever his team needs to be successful makes him the player he is. Murphy can play point guard, on the wing, or in the paint. His strength allows him to post smaller players while taking taller forwards off the dribble. Lantavious makes his team better. They do not make players with his versatility anymore.

McCurry has continued to improve as a scorer and defender during his high school career. He has always been a high level shooter and can heat up quickly. Now, he is better at attacking from the perimeter and scoring in the mid-range. His ability to score on multiple levels makes him dangerous all over the offensive end.

Be on the look out for other reviews of the rankings in the coming days.
