Owens came to our showcase last year and showed off his size but was still very raw in terms of his skill level and comfort with the basketball. Flash forward to Saturday and Owens looks like one of the best offensive bigs in Ohio's 2026 class. His height and weight was a problem on the block as Owens was getting what he wanted in the paint. Owens has a smooth jump hook over his left shoulder and he did his work early by getting position to receive the pass and finish at the rim. While he didn't flash his perimeter shooting improvement, we've seen him stretch the floor as well to show off his well-rounded offensive game. For Owens, the biggest area of improvement will be continuing to work on his conditioning and perimeter defense, he's taken his game to the next level this Fall and improving these skills would allow Owens to take another jump. Expect college programs to start to lay the groundwork in Owens recruitment starting in March or April when the 17 U spring grassroots season begins for him.

Straub is another player who attended our Expo who has taken a big jump from last year to this year. On Saturday, Straub started slow in the first 5 V 5 game but once he got going, there were few players as dominant as him during the second half of the showcase. Straub has good size for a stretch forward and started knocking down 3-pointers off the catch to wrap up the day. The biggest selling point with Straub is his ability to play above the rim with numerous dunks and layups where he's getting higher than rim protectors. A high upside prospect who we saw a couple times on the Prep Hoops Circuit, Straub is another player who college coaches will get familiar with sooner rather than later.

I had caught Stirling once prior to this during the month of June with Cincinnati Hughes. He showed off his ability to protect the rim, his size and length. On Saturday I once again saw these skills on display as Stirling was one of the best rim protectors in attendance. Going straight up to contest at his height is going to be difficult for a lot of guards to score at the rim against him and that was the case when Stirling wasn't fouling. Offensively Stirling is a work in progress but showed the most confidence in a turnaround jumper that he knocked down a handful of times throughout the afternoon. A name to monitor in the CMAC, Stirling showed some intriguing upside and could be a breakout player in the up-tempo conference.

Tyree played on the Prep Hoops Circuit and I caught him a couple of times in the spring. What Tyree does best is knock down the 3-point shot off the catch and he did that often on Saturday. Some other areas where Tyree impacted the game included going straight up on a blocked shot at the rim, leaking out in transition for layups and getting a couple offensive rebounds. Look for Tyree to be a crucial piece on a Northmont squad that could rise in the GWOC this winter.

Husty did a nice job of using leverage on drives to create space to shoot at the rim. The lefty was able to get downhill and collapse the defense to kickout to shooters or get the ball to one of his teams bigs. Also knocking down a couple of perimeter jumpers, Husty showed off some impressive scoring ability. Lexington should once again be one of the top teams in northwest Ohio and Husty could be a crucial complimentary piece next to their 2026 stars.
