Owens is a big kid. He has a big frame and is a player. He moves with good coordination and shows the ability to stretch the floor. He was very willing to step out and try to make plays for himself as a scorer from the perimeter. He has a nice shot, and it’s tough to contest because of his size. He did make some nice moves on the inside and second-chance points as well. He is a very interesting prospect.

A prospect who has battled injuries and just returned to the court last weekend during the Kentucky live period, Owens is kicking the rust off with some impressive offensive play. One of the most skilled bigs in Ohio, Owens knocked down a few pick and pop 3-pointers and displayed his soft touch on floaters and hook shots. When Owens continues to work his way back to 100% on the court, I’ll be looking for him to make a big defensive impact as a rim protector for a Goshen squad that could surprise some people this winter in the greater Cincinnati area.

Owens is one of the more skilled bigs in Ohio’s 2026 class and had a big performance at our 250 Expo this fall. Showing excellent year over year growth, Owens went from a player who was just big and occasionally able to score in the paint to a mismatch in the post and a big with the ability to space the floor from 3-point range. Owens is a player who I expect to get some serious college interest this summer during his 17 U season.

Owens is one of the most improved players in Ohio’s 2026 class and showed his offensive ability in a tough loss to Lakota East. With excellent touch on his shots, Owens had some tough buckets in the 12-15 foot range including some fallaway and turnaround shots. For Owens, improving defensively and conditioning should be areas of improvement for this upcoming grassroots season where his recruitment will likely take a spike in interest.

Owens came to our showcase last year and showed off his size but was still very raw in terms of his skill level and comfort with the basketball. Flash forward to Saturday and Owens looks like one of the best offensive bigs in Ohio’s 2026 class. His height and weight was a problem on the block as Owens was getting what he wanted in the paint. Owens has a smooth jump hook over his left shoulder and he did his work early by getting position to receive the pass and finish at the rim. While he didn’t flash his perimeter shooting improvement, we’ve seen him stretch the floor as well to show off his well-rounded offensive game. For Owens, the biggest area of improvement will be continuing to work on his conditioning and perimeter defense, he’s taken his game to the next level this Fall and improving these skills would allow Owens to take another jump. Expect college programs to start to lay the groundwork in Owens recruitment starting in March or April when the 17 U spring grassroots season begins for him.
