Nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops. We've been able to flex our muscles here in the month of September hosting three outstanding events featuring well over 300 prospects from across the Hoosier state. First, it was our annual Freshman Showcase and newly formed Sophomore ID Camp that we hosted back on Sunday, September 8th. Both events were a massive success. Then, on Sunday, September 22nd we hosted “The Expo” which featured juniors and seniors looking to gain exposure in front of college coaches. As always, our scouting staff will be releasing team-by-team evaluations highlighting every single prospect in attendance. Here are our evaluations on the prospects that made up Team 2.

Sims really broke out through the summer culminating in an outstanding performance at the Prep Hoops Circuit Grit Region Finals. He backed up that strong play once again at The Expo on Sunday. The 5'11" guard is so consistently productive no matter the setting. He shoots the ball at a high level from beyond the arc, creates well off of the dribble, and is active defensively on the ball. Look for him to have a breakout junior season and start to put up some big numbers at Pendleton Heights High School this season.

This versatile wing out of Triton Central High School produced around the basket for Team 2 at The Expo on Sunday evening. He is strong enough to finish inside and create some physicality issues for other guards. That strength shined off of the dribble as well as he could play through contact and absorb bumps on his way to the paint. Brown has some physical tools that help him as the skill continues to develop.

We've known that Gray was a talented player for some time now, but Sunday at The Expo was about as well as we have seen him play. The 6'2" guard had his shot-making ability on full display making some tough pull-up jumpers in the mid-range and several three-point shots off of the dribble as well. He gets good elevation on his jump shot and is shifty enough with the ball to consistently create separation. Gray should be poised for a big junior season at University High School this winter.

This 6'3" wing from Roncalli High School rally stood out at The Expo. A prospect that we weren't very familiar with here at Prep Hoops Indiana, Kesler used the exposure platform on Sunday to make his name known. He first caught our attention with some excellent defensive plays stealing a crossover which led to an easy layup and then jumping a passing lane for another. Offensively, his athleticism and versatility allowed him finish around the rim at the end of his drives. Intriguing prospect that should make some noise for the Royals this winter.

Smiley looks the part when you see him out on the floor. The 6'3" wing has impressive length and some positional size on the perimeter. He was active on the offensive glass on Sunday at The Expo get his hands on some loose balls to keep the ball alive for Team 2. Then, defensively, he used his length to deflect a couple of passes. He will need to continue to get stronger and work on his skill level, but he was active on both ends at our event.

College coaches do not want to miss the boat on this super athletic guard entering his senior season at Gary West Side High School. Collins has excellent positional size and length that he pairs with an impressive, well-rounded skill set. The 6'3″-6'4″ guard dominated offensively at The Expo showcasing his passing ability in the open floor along with what he can do as a scorer. Whether it was a pull-up jump shot, an athletic finish at the rim, or a pass ahead in transition Collins was consistently impactful with the ball in his hands.

Summitt is a prospect that we've been high on here at Prep Hoops Indiana for some time now. He was excellent all spring and summer long on the Prep Hoops Circuit with [program_tooltip program_id='2485834' first='Indiana' last='Ambition'] and then stood out once again on Sunday at The Expo. The 6'3″ wing is consistently one of the best perimeter defenders in any setting and can be truly impactful on that end of the floor. Offensively, he is excellent in transition and as a slasher/right hand driver in the half court. Summitt currently holds offers from DePauw, Hanover, and IU-Kokomo.

There are a lot of physical tools to like with this 6'4" wing/forward. Strickland has the size and strength to really be a matchup problem as a slasher and right hand driver. When he catches the ball on the perimeter and is able to attack closeouts in a straight line it is really hard for the defense to handle his physicality. He finished well inside at The Expo and knocked down a three-point shot on the right wing in 5-on-5 play.

There is a lot of young talent at Evansville Reitz right now including one of the top sophomores in the entire country. That has led to this 6'6" wing flying a bit under-the-radar which made him the perfect attendee at The Expo. Overton has all of the athletic tools you could ask for to go along with his long, lean frame. He can fly in transition, play up above the rim, and flashed some catch-and-shoot ability from three-point range as well. Intriguing Class of 2026 prospect to keep an eye on.
