Nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops. That is never more true than doing our annual series of fall showcase events. This past Sunday, we hosted our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase which is the single best event we put on each year. Over 150 of the states best freshmen descended upon Fishers High School to play in front of our scouting staff as well as many area high school and grassroots coaches. Throughout the week, we will be pumping evaluations on every single kid that attended this event. For this one, we look at the players that made up Team 9.

***As you can imagine, trying to cover 150+ prospects in a single event is a very daunting task. Also, there always end up being a couple of jersey number discrepancies, so if you attended the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and DID NOT receive an evaluation, please reach out to Brandon Ramsey via email coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or on Twitter @BRamseyKSR.***

Swanson never backed down from competing with bigger opponents on either end of the floor. Offensively, the guard from Triton High School handled the ball well against pressure and was able to initiate some offense for Team 9. Then, defensively, he was pesky on the ball with active hands and quick feet. Look for Swanson's ball skill to continue to emerge as he gets bigger and stronger over the next few years.

This left-handed guard from Roncalli High School showed impressive skill both on and off of the ball throughout the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. He operated off of screening action well with good change of pace and sound footwork. Cheesman will be able to making shots off the move and can create once he has the ball in his hands as well. Look for him to develop into a good backcourt piece down the road.

There weren't many guards at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase that displayed the level of strength and physicality with the ball that this Monroe Central High School prospect did. He was not afraid to play through contact off of the bounce, finished against size inside, and had a strong, athletic frame. Morgan handles the ball very well and certainly possesses the physical tools at his position to contribute against his peers.

A strong guard with a physical, athletic build, Bailey stood out at times throughout the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. He had a couple of outstanding passes in transition both willingly throwing the ball ahead and making sound decisions off of a live dribble when leading the break. Bailey also used his strength in the half court to drive and play off of two feet in the paint.

One of the more dynamic guards in the gym, Voltz will be a name you'll likely hear from this winter at the varsity level for Decatur Central High School. The 6'1" guard is excellent at creating space off of the dribble whether that be to get his own shot or to get downhill and make plays for others. He is a very good passer along with his obvious ability to score the basketball. Voltz displayed an advanced intermediate range game with floaters and little pull-up jumpers. Highly skilled playmaker.

Mollenkopf was an intriguing perimeter prospect out of Caston High School at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. The 6'1" guard routinely got into the teeth of the defense playing off of two feet in the paint. He used his strength and physicality to play through contact consistently and finished at a high percentage against size. Mollenkopf was very effective using his left hand around the basket.

Blackhawk Christian never has a shortage of talent and they are certainly loading up in this freshman class. LaCross will likely step into a role right away for the Braves who will begin the season in the Top 10 of Class 3A. The 6'2" guard is physically strong and very advanced for a player his age. He shoots the ball at a very high percentage proving to be one of the better deep threats in the gym. His combination of perimeter skill and strength inside of the arc makes him very hard to guard against his peers.

One of the two Belleu twins that competed at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman showcase, Gavin played really well in 5-on-5 action for Team 9. He was very quick off of the dribble getting downhill several times including one that he finished with a tough layup against size. Then, he knocked in a three-point shot as well showcasing some range beyond the arc. Belleu is a skilled all-around guard from Terre Haute North High School.
