Nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops. That is never more true than doing our annual series of fall showcase events. This past Sunday, we hosted our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase which is the single best event we put on each year. Over 150 of the states best freshmen descended upon Fishers High School to play in front of our scouting staff as well as many area high school and grassroots coaches. Throughout the week, we will be pumping evaluations on every single kid that attended this event. For this one, we look at the players that made up Team 5.

***As you can imagine, trying to cover 150+ prospects in a single event is a very daunting task. Also, there always end up being a couple of jersey number discrepancies, so if you attended the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and DID NOT receive an evaluation, please reach out to Brandon Ramsey via email coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or on Twitter @BRamseyKSR.***

There is some intriguing up-and-coming talent at Cardinal Ritter right now with several of their prospects attending our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. Woods is a 5'11" guard with some clear playmaking ability. He was dynamic with the ball in his hands consistently getting paint touches and making good decisions. Whether it was creating a shot for himself or for a teammate, Woods was always involved in the action.

Troutwine hails from my neck of the woods over in east central Indiana and will be entering his freshman season at Hagerstown High School. The 6'1" guard displayed a versatile offensive skill set on Sunday at our event with a smooth three-point shooting stroke, a quick first step to attack closeouts, and some creative finishing ability at the end of his drives. The length and athletic frame help to maximize his raw skill level as well.

Per usual, Ben Davis High School has an embarrassment of riches in the freshman class. There are several young, talented guards in the Giants' Class of 2028 with several of them attending our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. Rogers was certainly one that stood out among the group with his ability to process the game quickly, high basketball IQ, and overall court vision. He is a good passer and makes sound decisions from a live dribble. There is a lot to like about Rogers' game as he continues to develop over the coming years.

We were able to host several of Kokomo's talented Class of 2028 prospects at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. There will be some minutes and production to go around as the Wildkats graduated the Mr. Basketball award winner and another Indiana All-Star. Moos is one of those who could step in sooner rather than later. He has good size on the perimeter for a young prospect and can really shoot the basketball.

Vogt was one of the few prospects that we had already gotten eyes on prior to the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. The 6'4" West Lafayette High School product stood out at a recent Paul Corsaro Basketball Eilte Camp hosted at IU-Indianapolis. He impressed once again at our event with his two-way versatility and excellent physical tools. There aren't many freshmen built like Vogt while also having such a skilled offensive game. He handles the ball very well and is a good passer for a 6'4" wing.

There was certainly no shortage of prospects from some of the smaller in school in southern Indiana. Lauderbaugh, out of Crothersville High School, was one that certainly proved that he belongs and can compete against some of his most talented peers from across the state. The 5'10" guard was at his best on the ball as a playmaker and distributor, but did showcase the ability to shoot it while playing off of the ball as well.

Only at an event like the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase do you get the opportunity to watch a prospect from Castle High School play on the same team as a prospect from all of the way up at Kokomo High School. However, that is what makes our event so fun. Winsett came up from the Pocket City and handled himself very well in the backcourt with and against some very talented peers. His quickness with the ball in his hands and willingness as a passer really stood out on Sunday.

Another prospect from Wayne County in east central Indiana on Team 5, Wiley first stood out in 3-on-3 play with his confident ball handling ability. He could handle it against pressure and create enough separation to make plays. That then translated into 5-on-5 action later in the event where he would get his team into half court offense and was always willing to make the extra pass. Wiley proved himself as a hard-nosed on-ball defender as well.

Anytime you welcome in 150+ freshmen you will get prospects at all different levels of physical development. Bledsoe obviously still has a way to go in that real, but that also isn't uncommon for these 14-year old players. What he did showcase though was impressive toughness and a willingness to go toe-to-toe with bigger opponents. The University High School product has the skill level to really flourish as he gets bigger and stronger.
