Nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops. That is never more true than doing our annual series of fall showcase events. This past Sunday, we hosted our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase which is the single best event we put on each year. Over 150 of the states best freshmen descended upon Fishers High School to play in front of our scouting staff as well as many area high school and grassroots coaches. Throughout the week, we will be pumping evaluations on every single kid that attended this event. For this one, we look at the players that made up Team 16.

***As you can imagine, trying to cover 150+ prospects in a single event is a very daunting task. Also, there always end up being a couple of jersey number discrepancies, so if you attended the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and DID NOT receive an evaluation, please reach out to Brandon Ramsey via email coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or on Twitter @BRamseyKSR.***

We already spoke highly of his twin brother, Don, but now it is time for Raymond to get some shine here from the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. Unlike his brother, Raymond is more of a quick point guard that can play both on and off the ball at a high level. I thought he was a little bit better of a shooter than his brother but just like his brother, he was tough on the defensive end. One thing is for sure, the Bowling twins are going to be fun to watch over the next few years at Anderson High School.

Buford is a smaller guard from way up north at Gary West Side High School. Over the time that I watched him, I thought he had a few smart takes in the lane and was crafty enough to find a way finish. He does need to work on adding strength because he struggled just a little bit when the contact would come, but that is true for a lot of younger guards. Curious to see how his high school career progresses. His offensive skill set was advanced enough to make him intriguing.

Pendergrass is a 6'0" guard out of Portage High School. When it comes to smooth shooters that we saw at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase, Pendergrass stood out in that top tier in my opinion. He is a smart player that has that catch-and-shoot mentality getting to spots that will give him the best look. I could see him progressing into a true wing with two-way upside.

Gilpin is another one of those very talented freshmen from South Ripely High School that we saw at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. At 6'2", Gilpin is a taller two-guard that has so much smoothness to his game. He also showed that he was willing to compete on the defensive end of the floor. Projects as a true thee-and-D player long term. Look for Gilpin to get significant run at the varsity level this season for the Raiders.

Boswell is a 6'2" wing that represented the Scottsburg High School Warriors here at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. He is a very lanky wing, but did a great job of creating his own jumper from behind the arc. His jumper was one of the more consistent that I saw on the day as well. With Scottsburg looking to rebuild after winning the Class 3A State Championship, Boswell is a nice young prospect to start with.

Bolen is a 6'3" wing out of Huntington North that has good length to his frame already at a young age. He was one of the tougher players when it came to scoring around the rim as he consistently attacked closeouts and finished in the paint. Bolen used a shot fake consistently both to create penetration and to lift the defense when he would get around the basket. He displayed sound team defensive concepts as well.

Susdorf is a 5'9" guard out of Andrean High School up in northern Indiana. He really stood out as a communicator which isn't something that necessarily always gets noticed at showcase events like this. He is a very crafty on-ball guard that worked well off of ballscreens whether it was getting downhill or going it to his big man on the roll. Susdorf showed some good things as a on-ball guard.

Cabrales is a shorter guard out of Bishop Noll High School that played extremely hard in the times I watched him at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. He consistently hustled the whole time he was on the floor and even though he was smaller, he made it a point to crash the glass and get rebounds. I am curious to see how his offensive game progresses as his high school career takes off.

Shepperd is a young prospect that projects to be a very solid piece among the up-and-coming players for Terre Haute North. He is a very strong player that has an extremely high motor. It is easy to like his size at 6'3" already which is going to be an advantage of his in the early stages of his high school career.
