Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase – Team 11 Evaluations

Nobody does content and event coverage like Prep Hoops. That is never more true than doing our annual series of fall showcase events. This past Sunday, we hosted our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase which is the single best event we put on each year. Over 150 of the states best freshmen descended upon Fishers High School to play in front of our scouting staff as well as many area high school and grassroots coaches. Throughout the week, we will be pumping evaluations on every single kid that attended this event. For this one, we look at the players that made up Team 11.   ***As you can imagine, trying to cover 150+ prospects in a single event is a very daunting task. Also, there always end up being a couple of jersey number discrepancies, so if you attended the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase and DID NOT receive an evaluation, please reach out to Brandon Ramsey via email coachbrandonramsey@gmail.com or on Twitter @BRamseyKSR.***    Jones is another one of the rare players that we saw participate at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase that actually comes from out of state. Jones, a 5'9" guard out of Kirkwood High School in Tennessee, was one of the more active guard when trying to make plays in the lane. He was a very aggressive guard that will attack the defense while also being a willing defender on the other end of the floor.     Minnick is a 6'2" combo guard that has a long frame. He was one of two freshmen prospects from Bishop Luers High School that made up Team 11 at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. What really stood out about Minnick was his willingness to make the hustle plays. He got on the floor for loose balls and did all the little things well. We will need to continue to see a little bit more out of him on the offensive end, but I thought he competed with a tough mindset and high motor.     Stidams was the other Bishop Luers High School player that made up Team 11 at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. At 6'0", this guard was pretty versatile on the wing. He had a good combination of being bouncy yet smooth at the same time on the offensive end when it came to how he scored. Stidams was also a player that made his presence known on the defensive end guarding both the post and wing well.     Petrocelli is one of a handful of freshmen prospects that came out of Zionsville High School that were in attendance at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. Listed at 6'0", Petrocelli showed a lot of different skills on the floor, especially when it came to the offensive end. He is a very fast guard that likes to attack the lane with a strong first step. Being more of combo guard, he not only looked to score himself but was actively finding his open teammates as well. A solid, well-rounded game at an early age.     Rose is a 6'0" guard that represented the Linton-Stockton Miners at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. One word that really stands out to me about watching Rose was toughness. He was tough at pretty much anything he did on the floor. Tough defender, willing to rebound, and made some tough, contested jumpers as well. Southern Indiana kids always have a sense of toughness to them on the floor, and Rose has that for sure.     Stewart is a 6'0" prospect out of Waldron High School that played with an extremely high motor. I thought he showed a few different ways to score the ball here at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase at all three levels. Along with his high motor, he made a bunch of hustle plays that not very many freshmen that were in attendance would attempt. He just really competed on both ends when I watched him.     Murray is a guard that comes from Westfield High School that impressed with his smooth style on the floor. When it came to scoring, he did so with a smooth touch on his jumper coming from the perimeter. A wing that has a pretty good IQ when it came to his playmaking as well. He also showed that, long term, he may be one of the better three-and-D prospects in the 2028 in-state class.     There was a good amount of freshmen that came to the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase out of Kokomo High School and the 5'5" guard [player_tooltip player_id='2560419' first='Tyrell' last='Reed'] was one of them. It was clear at this point when watching him that he is pretty comfortable being a true lead guard on the floor. Reed displayed very good ball handling ability and some strong court vision as well. It will be interesting to see if he develops into more of scoring guard as his playing career continues.     There is a buzz around South Ripley High School about some incoming freshmen and luckily, we got to see them at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase with [player_tooltip player_id='2477290' first='Blake' last='Gunter'] being one of them. Listed at 6'4", Gunter is an athletic forward that is just so active with everything he does. He is a a glass cleaner and a player that would chase down his own shots as well. Really like the mobility he has on the floor and the high motor in which he plays in. Lots of upside.
