NorCal Top 60 Game Participants

The Pangos All-West Frosh/Soph Camp was played at McBride High School in Long Beach, CA. The Top 60 Cream of the Crop had 8 prospects from NorCal. This is a good group that played well in the 3 camp games leading up to their selection to the Top 60 Game.    A good ball handling guard with some speed, he sees the court, pushing, passing up, and around the perimeter. He can be aggressive looking for his shot opportunities, mid-range jumpers, he can hit the open 3ptr. He handles ball pressure, splits defenders. He's shown he'll attack the basket getting his shot up high off the glass over shot blockers.     White was in attack mode in all the games we watched. He's a thick guard who showed he could get to the basket at will from different angles using his body, and hard dribbles. He'll size up a defender, use a good first, initiate contact, and finish strong at the rim. He plays with balance, showed he could run point. He has a dribble drive mid-range jumper with good lift, a floater, and knock down 3's. He'll get up and defend his man hard.     He had good drives into the paint finishing with layups and paint jumpers. He has a nice transition bounce pass up court, he'll make the extra pass. He was strong going towards the rim in transition handling bumps. He found a good mix to passing and be an aggressive scorer putting up jump shots. He has a mid-range, 3pt range. He's a rebounding guard.     A quick guard, lengthy arms with plenty of slick moves to keep the defender off balance. He's fast pushing it up court, he'll make the long pass up. He's got a quick left/right crossover exchange, with first step to burst by defenders, he gets into the paint, he'll finish, dish, or pull-up for short jumpers. He has the foot speed, and lateral movement to be a good defender.     He's been playing good ball the last two times we've seen him. He's a good ball handler who uses his body, he can split defenders to get into the paint for strong finishes handling body contact. He has good court vision to make passes up and around the perimeter. He has the body to help get rebounds and defend bigger players. He can finish around the basket. He has a paint jumper. He might be underrated as a passing point guard.       He's a rising prospect from the Sacramento Area. He's a long prospect with speed, movement and slick handles to create shots for himself and others. He's a multi positional player who can score and pass from different angles on the court. He's good in transition, he can drop 3's along the perimeter. He'll slice in for paint points. He'll rebound and go.     They way he runs the court jumps out at you, long strides down the middle of the court. He's standing 6'7, growing with square shoulders, and a frame to fill. No question he's on an upward path with continued development. He'll block, and change shots. He has the length and quick bounce to stuff it back in. He'll have to remember to keep the ball up.     Mikel continues to add pieces to his overall skill set. The long wing type forward looked comfortable putting up 3's in the corners and along the perimeter. He's better conditioned running back and forth, he got a couple of transition buckets. At 6'6 he's cutting and making himself a target in the post area. He's finishing around the rim. He got a few blocks, rebounded, and defended his position.
