Last Sunday the first-ever PrepHoops Oregon Sophomore ID Camp took place at the Beaverton Hoop YMCA and many of the top in-state players and beyond from the Class of 2027 took the court to compete against one another in some very spirited competition. We had the opportunity to watch the action from start to finish, and after conferring with a number of other observers in attendance have come up with our All-Camp Teams - five members each on the First and Second Team. We start things off with the First Team.

Gaines is an excellent playmaking guard who stood out for his ability to attack gaps and rack up the paint touches. He showed the burst to blow by defenders outside, and the strength to hold guys off at the hoop and either sink buckets or draw fouls. A very crafty player who can get going quickly and had a good eye for making plays while playing at pace. (RM)

Gates exhibited a ton of poise playing the point at the camp. The rising senior was in full control of the basketball whenever he had it in his hands, playing with pace and getting to wherever he wanted to whenever he wanted to. He consistently made plays for himself and teammates getting to the hoop, both in halfcourt sets and in transition. He shot the ball well and was also active on the defensive end. (JT)

Khyungra may have been the quickest and shiftiest players at the entire event, especially when he was handling the rock. He used a quick first step and a number of crossover and spin moves to get to the hoop and more than capably finished over bigger players in the paint. A streaky outside shooter, he hit just enough from the perimeter to keep the defense honest. He was an opportunist on the defensive end playing the passing lanes for steals, and in general was a blur in the open court. (JT)

While we were familiar with most of the names at the Sophomore ID Camp, Schmidt was a new one for us - he just moved to Oregon from Arizona. He was more than a pleasant surprise though as he unofficially led the event in scoring, using a fast release and deep range to light it up from three-point range as well as quick moves to the hoop to score past defenders with either hand, often drawing contact. His 40-point explosion in the final game of the day was a joy to witness for everyone who witnessed it. (JT)

Schregardus was one of the top shooters from the event and let it fly just about anytime defenders hung back. He showed deep range behind the line as well as the recognition and ability to draw defenders out and attack the interior. He's a strong guard with a tight handle who used quick feet, good balance, and well-timed hesitations outside that led to a bunch of good looks for sophomore guard. (RM)
