2024 PH Oregon Freshman Showcase - Top Performers Second Team

Last Sunday, we had the opportunity to see some of the top incoming freshmen in Oregon at the Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase. There was solid competition throughout the day, but a handful of players managed to separate themselves from the group. He's a strong guard who has size and feel with the rock to make plays and get deep off the bounce. At the event, he used pivots, fakes, and good footwork to pair with patience and poise in order to score in the paint. He worked around a lot of traffic inside and showed an ability to scan the floor, read the defense, and keep the rock secure while attacking. (RM)     Foster established himself as one of the top shooters in the event immediately. He was money when left open from three and especially when his feet were set, his shooting form was compact and his release was quick. He also showed some ability to create off the bounce and get to the hoop in transition and finish. (JT)     He was a consistent presence at the rim with strong initial moves and showed good power to split defenders. Was not bothered by contact at the hoop and showed the ability to hang, take bumps, and finish through defenders. Mixed up his pickups to avoid swipes, had strength going off one foot or getting to two, and was able to read when to go straight at guys or slow things down and work off of two feet. (RM)     He had a pretty versatile offensive game, showing an easy stroke from deep range, taking his time to score 1v1 closer in, and working with good balance to score on the move to the rim. He was able to read the floor from different spots to make key passes, both in the open court, working with his back to the hoop, and sizing up the floor from outside. Also made a few really nice defensive plays, chasing down guys in the open court and coming over to help from the weak side in the half. (RM)     Showed off some really nice burst and touch to get inside and finish over or around defenders. He was a tough cover all day long and showed some real slickness off the bounce to get the best of his man and find driving lanes. Was aggressive attacking gaps, had good change of pace to throw defenders off balance, and was able to drop in some shots from outside to balance his scoring attack. (RM)
