A lot of great basketball plays on Saturday from Carter at the NW Hoop Summit on Saturday. The Wells sophomore earned much of his scoring haul getting to the hoop as he’s known for, either finishing or getting to the line, but drained a key three late to propel PDX Reign to a 16U pool play victory.

Carter continues to emerge as one of the top sophomore guards in the Portland metro area. A great ball handler with strong court awareness, he attacks downhill as a slasher and doesn’t shy away from contact. Carter impacts the game in multiple ways, doing a little bit of everything while staying aggressive. He also converted at the free-throw line and finished with a team-high 11 points, highlighting his growing offensive presence.

Carter was super aggressive offensively, looking to attack the basket whenever he got the chance where he could use his quickness and athleticism to not only get into the lane but finish at the basket in creative ways. The Wells sophomore, who also hit some threes, is extremely skilled and talented with his ball-handling and passing and on defense, has the ability to really play the passing lanes well and create turnovers. Showed off some really nice burst and touch to get inside and finish over or around defenders. He was a tough cover all day long and showed some real slickness off the bounce to get the best of his man and find driving lanes. Was aggressive attacking gaps, had good change of pace to throw defenders off balance, and was able to drop in some shots from outside to balance his scoring attack. (RM)
