A lot of great basketball plays on Saturday from Carter at the NW Hoop Summit on Saturday. The Wells sophomore earned much of his scoring haul getting to the hoop as he's known for, either finishing or getting to the line, but drained a key three late to propel PDX Reign to a 16U pool play victory.

Nice outing today for Thom at the NW Hoop Summit, the first time we've seen him in action. Playing with [program_tooltip program_id='2948386' first='Oregon' last='Flash'] 16U, the Westside Christian sophomore wing was tough getting to get basket for finishes through contact in transition and his jumper was smooth from the perimeter.

We've seen the future of Sherwood basketball and his name is Avery Borchardt. The eighth grader plays with intensity and swagger and possesses a lefty jumper that is sharp. He made plays on both ends for Dynasty 15U in a win at the NW Hoop Summit on Saturday. His father is former Stanford star and NBA center Curtis Borchardt who stood almost 7-feet, so it will be interesting to see how tall young Borchardt gets.

The shooting star on Saturday for NW Hoop Summit in 16U was Howard. The eighth grader from Vancouver was simply on fire from beyond the arc - sometimes a few feet behind the line - in two wins for Dynasty 15U. He didn't just bomb away either, he also had some nice finishes over much bigger defenders too. Howard noted that he's currently set on attending Fort Vancouver next year.

BH Elite - the team consisting of members of Lakeridge's Class of 2028 - may not have won the game that we watched but Watts put together a great individual performance. He stayed "shot ready" in spots outside the three-point line, where he knocked down at least five three-point jumpers from both the corners and top of the key. He utilized his size underneath for a couple of buckets and was solid with his rebounding and defense as well.
