What wings in the 2028 class went from unknown to on our radar after a strong showing at the Prep Hoops Illinois Freshman Showcase? Here are a few of them!

[player_tooltip player_id='2366141' first='Owen' last='Towne'] (OPRF)

Towne definitely helped himself with a strong showing at the camp. The 6'1” shooting guard has a very projectable frame with super long arms. Really liked what he can be defensively as a perimeter defender. Shot maker creating off the dribble that can also deck it with his lengthy strides to the cup.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532002' first='Jeremiah' last='Toney'] (St. Laurence)

Toney had a very nice showing at the camp. The St. Laurence 5'10” guard is very athletic with quickness having the ball in his hands. St. Laurence's program is reloading and we expect Toney to be a nice piece of that long term.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532005' first='Kai' last='Harvey'] (Homewood Flossmoor)

This Homewood Flossmoor 6'1” shooting guard brings a wet jumper knocking them in from both two and three throughout the camp. Good frame with projectability. Converted and-1s in the paint and was quick on the offensive glass.

[player_tooltip player_id='2515916' first='Jack' last='Fabian'] (Benet)

Fabian is an athletic 6'0” guard that brings pop on the wing. Slick player that had some fun plays like give and goes, reverse layups, and at the end of the game he threw down a ton of dunks showing off his athleticism.

[player_tooltip player_id='2389804' first='Lucas' last='Thompson'] (Triad)

Thompson is a 6'5” small forward to track from Triad. The 618 wing definitely left an impression with his performance. Great positional size and athleticism combination. Crisp ball handler that made quick and assertive moves while also showcasing shot making from three. Quick to the glass, can attack close outs, and post up smaller defenders.

[player_tooltip player_id='2531999' first='Jacob' last='Jones'] (Marist)

Jones is a 6'2” shooting guard that brings scoring pop. Won off the dribble shaking defenders and is a decent shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2441084' first='Noah' last='Hester'] (Taft)

Hester is a 6'2” shooting guard from Taft that was in attack mode throughout. Consistently got in the lane off the dribble where he was fouled or finished inside. Bouncy wing that plays above the rim and is a solid wing rebounder.

[player_tooltip player_id='2531966' first='Ashton' last='Smith'] (Kenwood)

Smith is a 5'10” guard that had a strong showing! He can really shoot the basketball knocking in four triples in the game we saw. Crisp and clean shooting mechanics. Good in transition being able to finish around the rim with euro steps. Ultimately what position he ends up being will depend on his height and development on the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='2369868' first='Charlie' last='Yellen'] (Deerfield)

The 6'1” Deerfield guard is a two with nice length and a solid overall skill set. Got loose several times in transition and has a crisp looking mid-range jump shot that he knocked in with regularity.

[player_tooltip player_id='2522885' first='Lyle' last='Taylor'] (Pekin)

A lot to like with Lyle. He has positional size at 6'3” on the wing. Crafty scorer that can get buckets in transition.

Terrell Purnell (West Aurora)

Purnell has some intriguing tools as a 6'2” projectable wing with broad shoulders. He was very good slashing to the rim for scores in the paint, got on the offensive board for second chance points, and flashed as a perimeter shot maker.

[player_tooltip player_id='2531990' first='Ethan' last='Peebles'] (Carlyle)

Peebles is a southern Illinois 6'0” guard that has a strong frame and solid skill. Liked the intangibles that he brought to the table as a connector, defender, and secondary scorer.
