Colorado Freshman Showcase: Team 4

Team 4 looked to push the pace, taking advantage of all possible opportunites along the break. Their variety of strong guards and talented perimeter playmakers gave them a notable boost within their two games.    Rich leapt off to an impressive pair of games in the five on five matchups, bringing deep range on the jump shot. A refined complementary shotmaker, the guard was especially efficient converting looks within a couple dribbles, regardless of the incoming contest. Bringing in great size at 6'1,Team 4 benefitted from his efficient shooting in- and outside of the arc. Defensively, Rich held his own one on one or as a help side shot blocker, capable of getting up to swat away shot attempts.     Langford was among the most productive prospects from this event, given his size and motor in the backcourt. Among the best rebounders in the gym, he was a glass cleaner on either end, leveraging his strength to move opponents with ease. A wrecking ball while attacking the rim, few opponents could slow him down once he had a head of steam. Inside the arc, he showed upside as a mid-range shotmaker, capable of stepping into the jumper through contests.     Carrillo continues to display skill handling the ball, effectively creating driving lanes one on one. Although undersized, the guard was about as efficient as anyone with the right hand around the rim, adept with high hand finishes. He remained a capable three point shooter off the catch or while stepping into attempts off of ball screens, especially when opponents went under. Defensively, he brings a high motor on the glass, kickstarting plenty of fast breaks and subsequent outlet passes.     Schilter had the ball on a string, handling pressure well one on one. Capable of creating driving lanes against his opponent, the guard had a ball on a string going either direction. Dualling as a dependable three point shooter off the catch or while stepping into the shot following a ball screen, Schilter repeatedly created efficient shot attempts while handling the rock.     Cox brings good size in the backcourt, capable of holding his own on the defensive glass given his low center of gravity. Active pushing the pace off the initial defensive rebound, he was an often recipient of outlets given his proactivity in transition.     Littlejohn sought out numerous scoring opportunities at the basket, bringing a gritty brand of basketball. Dependable ripping and driving past the immediate contest, he looked to attack the rotating defense, drawing fouls plenty of times. Should help defense take away the lane, the guard got created with hop steps to free up space.     Gray provided consistent floor spacing, ready off the catch to convert three point attempts. Of these freshman groups, Gray was among the most dependable spot-up shooters, a dependable release valve for driving teammates. The guard also brought good strength to guard up when necessary.     Quesada worked hard on the glass, always lurking for rebounds on either end of the floor. He did well getting out early on the break, setting himself up for success in those circumstances.
