This 2027 class is DEEP with talent. It's so very early in their careers and there are already 8 players in the class who hold D1 offers. With them only entering their Sophomore seasons, there is a lot of volatility in the rankings and we have had some players move way up the list in this update. Here's a breakdown of the top Combo Guards in this week's update. This does not include and players who are in the top ten of the class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1745583' first='Braxton' last='Keathley'] is one of the best pure scorers in the class and maybe in the entire state. He averaged 22 points per game as a Freshman and could put up bigger numbers this season if he can improve his three point shooting. Braxton's progression will be interesting to track as he has the physical tools that many colleges covet and has shown flashes of high level playmaking when he's not looking to score.

Scott County's [player_tooltip player_id='1883193' first='Colton' last='Helton'] had a solid summer with Kentucky Future and is likely to be in line for a much bigger role with the Cardinals than what he enjoyed as a Freshman. Helton has the high IQ you'd expect from a coach's son and has flashed solid playmaking skills. He needs to work on his overall athleticism in order to reach his prospect ceiling but that will come with more time in the weight room and on the Vertimax.

[player_tooltip player_id='2381859' first='Michael' last='Acton'] was one of the biggest movers in this update and is still working his way up the list. Wired to score, Michael plays more like a shooting guard than a point guard but he can make plays on or off the ball. Acton needs to buy into the defensive end of the floor but he has shown that he has the physical ability to really contribute on the defensive end when he needs to.

Anderson "Jay" Martin IV of McCracken County has a long name but also has some serious game. Martin can fill up a stat sheet in a hurry and excels on the offensive end of the court. As a freshman, Jay shot more 3s than 2s by a 3-1 margin and was second on the Mustangs at 37% from behind the line. To make the next step, Martin needs to get busier at attacking the rim and get to the free throw line more often.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125707' first='Griff' last='Weis'] of Trinity was a standout at our freshman expo last fall but has had to wait for his turn on the varsity level for the Rocks. Expect him to carve out a role with his shooting and playmaking that he showed off last fall.
