Lucas is one of the best pure shooters in Minnesota's 2026 class, and it was showing on Friday night. He's always active off the ball trying to find pockets of space out on the arc, and when he does you might as well put three points on the board. Lucas has a quick release to get shots off before his defender can close out on him, and last night he was hitting at a high percentage as Fury ran out to a big win in their opening game.

Tommy had a big size advantage in the paint against [program_tooltip program_id='2127820' first='Racine' last='Truth'], and was putting it to use. Offensively you could see him battling for deep post position and doing a nice job of providing a big target for his guards to get him the ball. Defenders would swarm him most times, but he did a great job of keeping his balance through the contact, and getting to his angles to finish off the glass. Earned a good amount of trips to the FT line as well. Tommy was perhaps at his best defensively as a shot blocker though, as he was swatting shot after shot to prevent points in the paint. There were even times where his presence alone prevented players from going up around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='1139244' first='Brooks' last='Johnson'] blew the game up in the second half for [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] against Mac Irvin Fire EYBL 16u. Although they ended up rallying late in the game, Brooks' scoring run proved enough for [program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] to come away with the win. He's a bruising wing with some explosiveness around the rim, but showed his shooting touch with a handful of threes within just a few minutes. Added in a transition dunk and a couple of strong takes to the basket for his 21 points.

Kayden was excellent moving off the ball on Friday night, and it led to countless easy buckets for his [program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] team. He started off the game with four quick buckets right at the rim, earning them with his effort on the glass, mobility in the full-court press, and IQ to step in from the dunker spot when his guards attacked. He's someone who always seems to be in the right place at the right time offensively. On the defensive end he helps provide another rebounding threat for his team, and his combination of size and lateral mobility helped him guard a number of spots. Never seemed to get tired even with his team playing with just 1 sub.

When [player_tooltip player_id='2408715' first='[player_tooltip player_id='2402467' first='Isaac' last='']' last=''] gets into a rhythm, there isn't much defenders can do to stop him. The 5'10 guard is just too creative off the dribble, and his change of speed allows him to create separation for a jumper with ease. Combine that with in-the-gym range and the vision to get into the lane and create for his teammates, and he's unpredictable with the ball in his hands. Every time I see him play [player_tooltip player_id='2408715' first='[player_tooltip player_id='2402467' first='Isaac' last='']' last=''] produces at a high level, and last night was no different as he was productive both scoring and facilitating in a big win for the Fury.

Jake is lethal from mid-range. Against a team that loves to pressure the ball, Jake was one of the few players who didn't seem fazed by it. Instead, Jake was able to break that pressure and get to his spots around the elbow where he's so dangerous. Dedominces can stop on a dime and gets good elevation on his pull-up jumper, making it difficult for defenders to contest. All game long defenders had a difficult time keeping him in front as he got to his spots to score.

I really liked the way that Tacarvion was pressuring the ball on Friday night. He was all over the place wreaking havoc on the defensive end, and forcing mistakes that allowed his [program_tooltip program_id='2127820' first='Racine' last='Truth'] team to get back into the game. Fenderson seemed to embrace the challenge of defending full-court on an island, and was willing to defend whoever his coach put him on. Gritty and quick guard who gets after it on both ends of the ball.
