Basketbull HOF National Invitational: Sunday Standouts Part Two

Basketbull hosted the Hall of Fame National Invitational this weekend in Springfield, MA. This was a really fun tournament, with tons of under-the-radar players showcasing their talents. Here is part two of Sunday's standouts. That's all the coverage from me for this weekend's tournament!    Seaver is tall and large. He's not too mobile on the perimeter but he's a real force in the paint on both ends and has solid hands. When he gets rebounds offensively, Seaver does a great job of keeping the ball high and away from pesky guards, and he can finish with both hands. Defensively, he has solid positioning and timing. He'll need to get more mobile if he wants to play at the D1 or D2 level, but some D3's should certainly be looking.     Lafayette is a knock down shooter with a lightning-quick release that looks well beyond his years. He's still filling out other parts of his offensive game, but the shooting is there and he seems to have a mind for the game; he knows where to be, how to move and how to pass. He'll need to grow and get stronger if he wants to play at the D1 or D2 level, but I could imagine him improving as his body catches up to his mind. Should be a D3 prospect.     Taylor is a quick, skilled point guard with a really nice handle and an uncanny ability to get into the paint. He also has great vision and is incredibly willing to be a pass-first guy when playing with other very talented players. Not the best leaper, but he is athletic enough to finish at times in the paint. It'll be interesting to see how his body develops – he looks very young and skinny – but he has great potential if he can grow. Needs to be a bit more controlled once he gets into the paint, but that will come with time and strength.     Maloney is an explosive, above-the-rim athlete with amazing length and leaping ability. He's still working on developing a consistent outside jumper, but his mechanics and footwork are there, so I could definitely see it coming along. His physical tools and potential will do enough to get him onto a college roster, with scholarship potential if he can put it all together. Big-time athlete with lots of room to grow. Keep up with Maloney's development.     For Faison's age, he has an incredibly defined physique and excellent control over his body. It's rare to see a guard this age who looks so old. Offensively, he has a strong, controlled handle and some really nice touch in the paint. He uses exceptional leaping ability to fly above the defense and get his shot off. It'll be interesting to see whether he grows vertically moving forward, but he should be on college coaches' radars regardless. Bulldog.     Guay-Paquet is an ultra-skilled lefty guard with great passing instincts and a knack for using his body. He was excellent at putting the defender in jail via the pick and roll and made fantastic decisions for his team with patience and control. He's a really exciting prospect who should certainly get D3 looks as a pass-first point guard who can run your offense. He even has the potential for D2 looks if he can develop physically.       Hall took charge after charge this weekend. He had no qualms with putting his body on the line in front of whoever was charging the paint, and it made him an effective help-side defender for TNE CT. Offensively, Hall is quick and sturdy with solid finishing ability and good vision. He'll need to grow and get quicker if he wants to play at the D1 or D2 level, but he should certainly get some D3 looks.
