The Top 3 are an impressive trio, each already garnering Division I attention. However, this is also a deep positional group, as will be noted with the 3 to Watch.

Below we'll take a look at six notable Point Guards in New Engand's class of 2026.

THE TOP 3

The #1 ranked Point Guard in the class is [player_tooltip player_id='2341288' first='Warren' last='Keel Jr.'], who recently announced that he will be transferring to Putnam Science Academy. A big time prospect that's already drawing significant interest from major Division I programs, Keel is a table setter that can score at all three levels, makes plays for others, and takes care of the basketball. He has a high basketball IQ, some real wiggle off the bounce, and isn't afraid to have the ball in his hands in the big moments.

[player_tooltip player_id='2341301' first='Windston' last='Legentus'], who plays on the UAA circuit with the Middlesex Magic, checks in at #2. A bigger lead guard that seems to have the ball on a string, Legentus has some serious handle, creates tons of seperation, and is a crafty paint finisher. A good athlete with a quick first step and elite floor vision, he's a big time competitor that plays with a chip on his shoulder. A definite scholarship prospect, I'd imagine he'll have Division I's following him throughout the summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2325746' first='Amir' last='Jenkins'], who will attend Worcester Academy in the fall, is our #3 ranked Point Guard. One of, if not the, fastest guards end to end in New England, Jenkins is a blur in transition where he puts pressure on the defensive with his ability to finish at the rim or set up teammates. He has a great feel in the half court, can make every pass imaginable, and, is pound for pound, one of the toughest prospects in the region. A recent Providence offer could be just the tip of the iceberg in his recruitment.

3 TO WATCH

[player_tooltip player_id='2341337' first='Joel' last='Nash'], a lead guard for Avon Old Farms, comes in as the #7 Point Guard. A dynamic lead guard that can really push the ball in transition, Nash has a lightning quick first step and tight handle, allowing him to consistently put pressure on the rim. He makes good reads in ball screens and has really improved as a perimeter shooter this winter. He's a terrific on ball defender that can guard the entire length of the floor. Should be on the radar of scholarship schools this summer.

Ranked #10 in the class is [player_tooltip player_id='2341427' first='Lateef' last='Afolabi'], a lead guard from Dexter Soutthfield. A big lead guard with great positional length, Afolabi is a shifty ball-handler that does a great job changing speeds and attacking angles. He's a handful to guard when he puts pressure on the rim and might be the most impressive athlete at the position in this class. He's had some big scoring games this spring and could play himself into scholarship consideration this summer.

St. Paul's [player_tooltip player_id='2418200' first='Mekhi' last='Simmons'] breaks into the rankings at #13. Another long guard that is shifty off the bounce, Simmons does great job of pushing the ball in transition and attacking gaps in the half-court to collapse the defense. He's become more confident as a scorer, but still shines as a facilitator as he can get wherever he wants off the bounce and has good passing instincts. Already on the radar of multiple Division III's, he's a prospect that could really improve his stock in the next few months with continued improvement.
